New news, my husband showed up to get our son and guess what....she wasn't there. He called her cell phone and she said that they were getting something to eat and would be back in 45 min. So , my hubby is upset and asked me to call her, which I did. She gets mad and tells us the world doesn't revolve around us and that i was just trying to talk me son into going home but he doesn't want to. Anyway to make a long story short ...My hubby is pissed and she is bringing my son home tomorrow. i'm hurt and upset and i don't want my son to feel like he is being denied being with grandma. All she had to do was say "well, if you miss him then he should go home and then I will see him agin on thursday". oh if things were only that simple.

Kids say the funniest things!

she is now asking me all the body parts(all of them).
now i am not one to hold back so i told her what she has and what her little brother has when she asked.. so anyway..... now she sings songs about it.

I took my 7 year old with me to the court house to get a copy of his birth cert. When I told him we were at the court house he said "man, alot of people live here". After we were inside he asked about what the people there did ...I told him they file papers...then he asks were does paper come from...i told him it comes from trees......his reply "NO WAY"...thats impossible......then i had to explain the whole process... it was cute.....especially since at this age he like to claim that he knows more then myself or his dad.

Inappropriate "shepherding" calls.
by avishai inhow many have recieved calls by the elders that were under the guise of "shepherding", but somehow inappropriate, i.e, you were a woman alone with only one elder showing up, or you felt physically intimidated by both.
or say they show up at like, 10:30 at night for a shepherding call.
and you say "hey, i appreciate the visit but please call first!

the elders were visiting my mom after i had my baby, they were giving her a sheperding call for whatever reason. i was hoping to get out of the house before they showed up but I didn't make it. One of the first comments out of the brothers mouth was "how old is the baby", i answed, "and how long have you been married". He was trying to bring up the fact that my child was a basterd and I got married after when I should have been married in the first place. I was pissed off, my mom was irritated, but did she do anything????? NOPE....and life goes on.

< => I have a question for anyone who can help out. My oldest (7) has gone to his grandparents. Normally he stays 1 week or 1 1/2 weeks. This time grandma wants him for 3 1/2 weeks....I think this is to long. So I call her up and tell her I want him to come home for a week then he can go back out there, which is when he will fly with her to s. cali to get his cousin. He will be done there for 4 days then they will fly back. I know once there back my son will want to stay there to play with his cousin. So, when I told grandma that I wanted him back for a week, she didn't really want to give him back. (just for info, she lives 2 hours away and sees him at least once a month). i told her that his brothers miss him and i miss him and that a long time for him to be gone.....she doesn't think so. By this time I'm irritated with her. Finally I just call and tell her my husband will be there to pick him up on his way back from working out of town. She says that he wants to stay, when I talked to him the day before he wanted to come home for a few days. Does anyone else find this weird, or unusual?
< => P.S. sometimes i just get this gut feeling like she wants to take him away from me....although I don't really think she would.

i don't know if they exist in every state (apparently not), but the one i went to is named new world education center.
all of the teachers had to be baptized jws and the principal as well.

I lived in the sacramento area and i have never heard of a jw school...interesting. How do they teach history??? do they teach about the world wars or do they skip that and just talk about the jw's that were totured and put in concentration camps?? My parents put me in home school... to PROTECT me (sarcasim) from all the worldy things, boys, drugs, bad language....of course they didn't know that when i met with my homeschool teacher each week I would run of with my b/f and make out.....hehehehe

Paul J, I actually know what your talking about. my parents got a tape that had the song for the books of the bible and one about paradise and one about the flood. I would sing the books of the bible song in my head when ever i had a hard time finding esther or nehemiah or one of those hard to find books....ewwwww.. got me singing ti in my head again.

If she is manipulating you like this now just imagine how its going to be if down the line you have kids and she is pushing them to get baptized at age 8 and they do, then a few years later they say, opps, this isn't for me and they get df'd then your not allowed to speak with your own kids. It sucks.. really.....and about the answering the questions wrong....they basicly talk you through it, so it doesn't really mater if you answer wrong or not.( of course not all elders are like that, but mine were) Good luck

Paul J made a good comment about stopping when your full. Alot of us were trained growing up that we had to eat everything on our plates. If we didn't we had to sit and sit and sit until it was gone. Now we have the problem of having to force ourselves to not eat everything on our plate if we become full first. All those large portions at resturant don't help at all. Most of the time my husband and i order one dish and split it and it is the perfect amout and we don't have leftovers and we don't feel over full.
