When we take to heart Paul's advice to `keep testing whether we are in the faith, keep proving what we ourselves are,' we too become a good influence on others

I thought we aren't supposed to test if we are in the faith. If we do that we are borderline apostate aren't we??

If we prove ourself with info other then WTBS stuff then aren't we bad??

Man.. I am so wanting to go to the meeting tomorrow and answer one of the questions by saying.

"we should all keep faith in Jehovah and Jesus to handle any situation. For example, If you are being beaten by your spouse or parent and they deny it and there are no witnesses put faith in Jehovah and keep being beaten by them since Jehovah doesn't give you any more hardship then you can handle. In due time Jehovah and Jesus will take care of the situation. "

A sometimes annoying ability to feel the pain of others. Like you show me you smashed your finger w/ a hammer and my finger will hurt real bad...etc.

one of my biggest pet peeves at the k.h.

was when i would see those not in the right clique get forgotten.

so easily they would slip between the cracks.

My own daughter. She is 4 and she is so smart. Some would say "pop her in the mouth for the things she says" but I in some way enjoy her cander.

Last night at dinner she was eating mac'n'cheese (her choice) and asked her cousin that was sitting next to her for a french fry from his plate. I told her " no you can't since you have your own food to eat and thats his food." She replies " mom, I was talking to him not you". What I got out of it was..not you smart mouth kid.. but wow.. even at a young age they know more then we give them credit for. She learned to say that from listening to ME. She just hasn't learned that its not respectful to use it to her parents. It reminded me at how young but still smart I was while going to JW meetings. I would second guess myself since I had doubts but was told if I had enough faith I shouldn't have doubts. I would want to say stuff back to the elders but felt I wasn't supposed to or I would get in trouble. I knew to respect my parents and not say smart-mouth comments to them but I felt compelled to say things like that to the elders but still didn't.

I will from now on allow my kids to voice their opinions -if said disrespectfully I will just teach them a better way to say it. Not teach them that thier ideas don't matter.

I just bought a Van and its $40 to fill up and that was before it became $2.50 a gallon.

I don't visit my folks as much. Used to see them once a week now its gonna be more like.. once a month.

Luckily my kids live across from the school and they can walk. And my husband drives all day but his job pays for his gas and so if I need stuff at the store I just get him to go for me.

If gas was $5 a gallon.. geez.. I would invest in a good bike or moped..something.

lol. because dogs are unconditionaly people pleasers. Even dogs that are beat love their master. Kids are complex thinking beings. They can lie to get what they want and manipulate from a VERY young age. I am not saying spanking as a general rule is ok. I am saying try everything you can other then swatting to help raise your child to become a responsible , loving adult. But if the child is resistant to other ways and a gentle swat helps them remember how they are supposed to behave then so be it. Some parents don't spank but they argue w/ no resolution in front of kids.. they are mean to each other emotionally. They squash kids hopes and dreams. That is a good way to ruin a kid. There are far more things to be careful of then whether a person occasionally swats a kids butt. The overall picture is are they showing unconditional love, respect and laughs. "It takes a village to raise a child"
