  They wont take my clothing donation!

  alot of shelters are over loaded with clothing donations and are no longer taking them.

  i stopped by the big town (in mesquite) that is being used as a temp.

  shelter and they are only taking baby clothes.

  Alot of shelters are over loaded with clothing donations and are no longer taking them. I stopped by the Big Town (in Mesquite) that is being used as a temp. shelter and they are only taking baby clothes. Other then that they are taking gift cards, canned goods, diapers, wipes (basically anything baby related), feminine products, toiletries. I had to drop them off at the Police Station on 700 N. Galloway.

  If anyone else knows of specific shelters and thier specific needs please list them so we can focus on those items.

  Would you bend over to pick up a penny on the ground? Or maybe a nickel?

  yesterday evening i was taking a long walk, and then i saw a nickel (5 cents) on the sidewalk, so i didn't even bother to pick it up.

  then walking away i was surprised that i didnt even pick it up.

  i know that i would never pick up a penny, but a nickel, usually i do pick that up.

  I pick up pennies..nickels.. anything. I collect all change and put it in my girls piggy banks. Hey, it all adds up!!

  please forward and share this valuable info..... food stamps * do you know anyone in texas as an evacuee from any of the three states louisiana, mississippi, alabama?

  if so, the texas department of health and human services will give them 2 months of food stamps with no questions asked.

  Well its appears I may not be donating all the items to the Hotel but instead to a drop off at a school across the street. My husband doesn't want us using any more gas then we have to since the price is so high.

  I may just be my usual self and do what I want to anyway since i am wanting to go to the local Red Cross and donate blood and might as well go to the hotel while i am using up gas.

  I am already getting things together and contacting my family for their help in donating stuff and we are taking it down there either Sat or Sunday. I am even getting my kids involved.. they are donating toys etc. !!!!!

  Smells that evoke memories...

  isn't it funny how certain smells can have a strong effect in evoking distant memories?.

  i was reminded of this when i just opened my desk drawer.

  a little earlier today i bought a local newspaper (which is unusual for me) and didn't have time to read it so i stuck it in the drawer.

  I wish there were more personal ways to donate. I would like to know maybe from one family to find out what they specifically need. Diapers, bed sheets.. blow up mattresses.. can foods..etc and let me go through my neighborhood or something and then take it or send it to them somehow.

  i'd like to be 2 inches taller with the same weight proportion.. i'd like to have nicer skin.. i'd like to be a little more muscular.. other than that, i'm not too unhappy with my looks.. all things the new system would have brought me..... .
