I was talking to my father about the Awake! mag talking about Christianity and how their followers were losing faith and trust in the religion because doctrines have changed. What was once a SIN five yrs ago is no longer a sin. I said " how ironic that the JWs talk about something that they themselves do" He said.." the only thing they changed on was the college issue.. and thats not even a doctrine"
Since he has opened the floor for discussion on that issue can anyone help me with a list and proofs of the changes they have made over the years?
I did briefly mention the fact that Organ transplant is now considered a conscience matter and that it can't be if they still believe in no blood transfusions since organs contain blood and there is no way to "squeeze" every last drop of it out.
Oh.. just in case people are curious... I haven't called the stranger JW back but she did call me back. I didn't answer and she didn't leave a message this time. But the funny thing is when she called. Sat morning around 10:00 am.

Are birthdays now a "conscience matter" for JWs?
by Elsewhere ina few months ago my jw sister emailed me out of the blue asking for me to suggest a good telescope for her little girl (about 12, but i'm not sure).
my niece has had a strong interest in science since she was very little and my sister is trying to encourage her.
if you are wondering, yes, my sister and her jw husband do shun me... so basically she got the info she needed and then disappeared again.

From the way my mother reacts its not a conscience matter. If we tell her that on a certain (b-date) day we have plans. She asks " it isn't for a .. birthday .. is it?"
I agree w/ the person that suggested not specifically writing in bold print on the pkg.. ITS FOR YOUR B-DAY!!!
She should get the jist of the gift and what its intended for. My mother even would slyly suggest that you do things on the day before or the day after so its not TECHNICALLY celebrating the b-day. How silly!

ALMOST LIKE BEING MARRIED

spending all day every day with this person i want a very fast moving bus to come thru our parking lot at lunch time..get my drift?
actually i am locked in a training room for a six week period with a very beautiful girl that is one of my friends.

Are you honest when you say your age?
by JH ini know people who don't say their real age, like take off 2 or 3 years.... my mom looks younger than her age, so she sometimes took off a few years.
gee, i'm just the opposite, i rather say my real age, and wait for a compliment saying "hey you look good for your age".
how about you, do you ever lie on your age?

I don't lie about my age. I am proud of it! I even got carded at Sea World.. lol
But most of the time they see me w/ my 3 kids and just figure I must either be old enough to drink or thinking " dang.. 3 kids?? she needs a drink!" lol
I am 29 yrs of age and loving it.

Any pet related question you'd like to Ask or Answer?
by JH inwhy is it that each time my cat poops in her litter box she runs around the apartment full speed afterwards as if she pulled a trick on me?.
why is it that my cat wants me to put more food in her bowl even though is's half full?
and then once i do, she looks contented that the bowl is full, but doesn't eat any...

Does anyone ever watch "Intervention"?
by devinsmom init's a very interesting show on the tlc channel its on sunday nights.
its about people dealing with addictions and their family and friends getting together and planning an intervention for them.
they show everything from gambling addicts to heroin addicts.

I think it is a very good show--telling how it really is. Some make it , some don't. The one that shocked me was the gut that (oh, i forget his addiction) lost his house , car, job and family. He had a job that paid out the butt too!!!
