  do you think the wt has become more lenient or stricter over the year?.

  i am 21 and i remember just 4 years ago going to college was looked at as something negative.

  girls my age, we had plans to be ft pioneers and become secretaries.

  GO TO COLLEGE!! I'm 24 and just finishing up my freshman year. But it is so much fun. I love learning. Most schools offer some online courses so that you don't have to show for every class. And most online classes have discussions that work just like this and other forums so it's a breeze.

  For those of you that are in your 30's and didn't go, you can still go. Start in a community college at night and transfer out. My co-worker who has been working here for 10 years decided to go back. (she dropped out when she got married). She's having her 40th birthday and in her senior year of college. She's not planning on leaving this job, but you never know what will happen tomorrow, so it's good to have a degree to cushion any fall.

  Do you ever get Kingdom Melodies stuck in your head?

  it has been over 8 years since i have been in a hall.

  yet once in a while when i'm doing menial tasks i start to hum a kingdom melody.

  The men who think, leave. The women who don't get involved as deeply in the organizational stuff often don't know how bad things really are.

  Yeah, sometimes I ask my mom if she thinks it's wrong that god doesn't trust her with any responsibilities because she's a woman. She said she didn't care because she's too busy with her own life to take on anything.

  i keep reading all these threads that talk about the jws knocking on their doors.

  we live in southern california and there has not been a visit at door in well over a year.

  my business is on the main drag and their has not been a visit there either.

  I live in So Cal, but when I went to the KH I was in CT.

  I never, ever, ever see JWs. I see mormons all the time!!

  I used to live in a predominately latin neighborhood. One morning I heard a knock at the door. It was a pair of dubs. This is exactly how the convo went:

  Me: "hello"

  JW: (in prefect american english with no accent) "Oh, hi. Do you speak spanish?"

  Me: "No"

  JW: "Oh we're looking for people who speak Spanish"

  Me: "right neighborhood, wrong apartment"

  JW: "Thanks"

  and that was it. I called my mom and told her. I said, they should have at least started and english presentation. How lazy. HAHAHAHA!!!

  I remember when I was 16 and auxillary pioneered with a friend I homeschooled with, we formed a 2 person car group because everyone trusted us. We went to the mall and bumped into his dad who was the PO. He was supposed to be out that day too.

  Satan must be blessing you for leaving "the truth". Hahahah! I'm just kidding. Congrats!!! Good luck with dealing with cancelling all your credit cards and stuff... That part sucks... But it all works out in the end.

  Why the Mainstream Media's reluctance to publish WTS vs Quotes battle?

  we were unable to generate any interest the first go-around with the wts threatening quotes, and now it seems the mainstream media is for the most part ignoring us again.. i have also sent out numerous releases and letters to local media outlets (newspaper, tv, etc.

  ) prior to a number of district conventions, and never got any kind of response nor did i ever see anything anything printed or broadcast except the "fluff" pieces they do about the convention, baptism, drama, blah, blah.

  after reading several local articles, from several different cities, reciting how much $$$$ the conventions bring to each city, i have a feeling that, at least these cases regarding the dc's, the media doesn't want to go after a large contributor to the local economy.. but, what about this case, the lawsuit against quotes?

  "If it bleeds it leads" and "sex sells" are the two things that get stories on the news.

  "A Current Affair", a nationally syndicated show does stories on coverups and sex scandals... Maybe Slient Lambs can get their attention?
