She's a media wh---. (not sure if i can use that word here) She says outlandish, over the top things to get attention. Just look at this thread. If she didn't get this type of attention then no $$ for her. It's all a game. She says things to piss off people and get attention. I can almost guarantee she doesn't believe everything she says, put you gotta pay the mortgage somehow.

80% of Near Death Experiencers Can't Wear Watches...
by FMZ ini have had about 5 digital watches since my nde when i was young.
every single one of them reset itself regularly.
2 of them i gave away because of the problems i had, and their new owners (my father and brother) never had a problem with the watches since..

I don't wear watches cause they always die on me. But I've never had any NDEs. There's been times when I've had mechanical problems on flights but nothing that would be a NDE.

House OKs bill guarding Pledge from courts
by Kenneson inthe house, today, citing the religious origins of the u.s., signed a bill to protect the pledge of allegiance from federal judges attemping to stop schoolchildren and others from reciting it because of the phrase "under god.
" the bill passed 260-167. next, it goes to the senate.
do you think this is a right decision?.

He feels those who object should refrain from that one line (after all they are offending no one)...and respect the fact that the nation is "indivisible" and stronger because of the freedoms and allowance for diversity.
That's a perfect compromise. Often when one negotiates a contract, one would cross out lines that they do not wish to adhere by.
This implies that the 29.4 million Americans who do not believe in a god, are somehow not members of this "nation under god"
Yes, but you will offend 270 million Americans. I am one of those 29.4 and I know for a fact I'm part of this nation. The whole point of separation of church and state was not pure secularism as we see in France (ie: forbidding Hajabs and Crosses in school). The point of it was to keep out the Churches influence from the goverment (ie: teaching bible classes in school, ten commandments displays, creationism in school, laws that require certain religious codes, forbidding gay marriage based on biblical principles).

Even if the majority believe in some form of the supernatural, the line is still ridiculous: what "god" is it referring to? YHWH? Buddha? Vishnu? Allah? Wiccan deities? It simply makes NO sense in a pluralistic society which claims to accept ALL beliefs, including the right to "non-belief". Keep the CHURCH out of the STATE. Period.
Why does it have to refer to a specific god? As you stated if the majority of people do believe in a supernatural being, then it would be more offensive to remove it just to not offend the atheists. I am an atheist but I think that even a Hindu or Musilm would think about their god(s) if they recited "under god" in the pledge.
It is not a Church and State issure period. All church and state issues stem from the influence of a specific religion into government. However, saying "under god" does not promote chrisitianity or any specific religion.
But, once again I will state that have the goverment debate over such an issue is completely insane and a waste of taxpayer's time.

I agree with Blondie. People shouldn't be forced to either say it or not. Bringing up a court case to remove it from all schools because one person is offended is just a waste of tax payers money. However, I also feel that the House passing this bill is a big waste of time and money and just another election year campaign.
There are so many other more important issues happening in the country but Congress wants to waste time and money with stupid stuff like this. Just today I heard a story on NPR about how many of the Katrina FEMA trailer parks are now full of drug dealers. -

The way I see it, why go to church only to come out feeling bad, sad, guilty or worthless?
Come out feeling good, happy, and in this churches case--full!I don't go to church; however, if I did, I would definately make sure it's a fun experience.
