Slaying the Demons in My Basement Part One
by Fleur inever since we moved into this place almost eight years ago, there have been demons in my basement.
no, not those kinds of demons.
not the smurf-controlling, videogame-inhabiting and musically-backmasked, legendarily-jw-feared sort of demons.

Actually, intentionally cutting someone off and braking hard so that the person hits you is not only wrong, it's a form of insurance fraud in California. There's a whole thing about it on the department of insurance's website about people who stop for no apparent reason. It's pretty serious. I don't know how the law in Illinois are and of course you would need witnesses and they are hard to come by.
Recently, I' ve noticed an epidemic of people who beep their horn behind you when you are waiting to make a left turn. IE: I am in the left turn lane waiting for a clearing to make my turn. There is a steady stream of traffic so I continue to wait. The person behind me gets impatient and beeps their horn. I know when it is safe for me to turn and the power of my car. Ignorant people
HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!

Do Sex Offender Laws Go Too Far In SOME Cases?
by target ina young man of 20 has sex with his willing 17 year old girl friend.
her parents find out and press charges.
now he is a sex offender.

I know the website that lists sex offenders for LA County lists their crime and I think they only post the "serious" ones, meaning the ones that molested children under 14 or rape/aggrivated rape/assault. Yeah, I think blanket laws can be bad. Especially when the list gets in the hand of an over zealous soccer mom.

Frozen breaded fish! Just plain nasty. Mystery fish. Who knows what type of fish or when it was actually caught and where. (cue twilight zone music) Something my mom didn't make: I had a real nasty sauerkraut in Alasce France. I was starving and just put up with it and ate it because I didn't want to offend anyone especially since I was a special guest.

What ended your first relationship?
by Dune ini'm in a relationship now and its my first serious one.
she keeps telling me that she's scared because she believes i'll eventually get bored with her and start wondering how it feels like with other women.
so she wants me to hook up with other girls when she goes out of the country for the fall semester.. personally i dont want to, but this is making me wonder, in the average person's first ,serious relationship, whats the cause of the breakup?

Ummm...any chick that is telling you to do that is doing the same. I was totally going to say that.
My first relationship ended because we moved in together too soon. People confuse the need for some private time as pushing away. I like my space. Now I have a one year rule before even considering it and even then I would want a two bedroom so that there's like an office/exercise room to spend time in.

Are There Any Worthy Non-Watchtower Charities?
by TMS injehovah's witnesses are subtly discouraged from contributing to any charities other that the watchtower society.
while acknowledging that groups other that the wt may do "some good", jw's may feel that charitable groups are generally dishonest, wasteful or simply not doing things "jehovah's way.".
now, as an ex-jw, have you found any charities worthy of your monetary support?

My proposal would be for an expansion of medicare (left under state control) so that it would cover the gap for those who can't afford private insurance but don't qualify for medicare as well as those who can not attain insurance because of existing conditions.
I'm going to be the "Ann Coulter" on this topic for saying: I personally would not want a nationalized system because being a single personI am already paying more than my share of taxes to provide services that I don't use. My heart doesn't really go out to the people with three kids that can't decide whether to eat or pay for health insurance. Perhaps they should have thought about that before they had three kids. It's all about lifestyle choices. Many people in the western world spend a lot of money on luxuries and call them necessities. So someone who can't afford health insurance for their kids probably has cable TV, a cell phone, and orders take away food a few times a month. Those little things add up.
Maybe Bush's dumb abstinence only sex-education courses should include a lesson on how much having just one child will cost you.
