I wonder what the cultural costume of Los Angeles would be? Probably something I couldn't afford.
Greed can sometimes be a subjective term. Within the past few weeks I have been called greedy by a friend because I wouldn't take my unemployed friend to dinner. Here's why I refused:
My friend was friend from his job for mouthing off to his boss and has been unemployed for four months. During this time he hasn't filled out any job applications. He was offered a job by his old employers competitor but refused because the uniform has a white coat and he says he doesn't wear white. A mutual friend of ours makes $20/hr logging tapes for MTV and said she could get him a job there, he said that logging tapes is menial and boring. I would have gladly taken him to dinner if he was just getting back on his feet or at least was making an effort. I guess I'm just greedy.
this is the word of jehovah: alas!
for that day is a great one, so that there is no other like it.
the sound of trembling we have heard, dread, look!
I have kept quiet for a long time, I continued silent. I kept exercising self-control. Now I will destroy and devour at once, says Jehovah.
Maybe we should call the cops. Sounds like Jehover is about to go postal.
What's up with all these crazies posting crap on this board recently?
the world put on notice!
be awake!
be ready!
Dude, you need to learn sentence and paragraph structure. Perhaps you are a University of Awake alumni? I couldn't get past the few sentences without being bored to tears.

it's -35 degrees celcius here.
with the windchill, it's -45 (that's -49 farenheit for those in the us).
had to let the truck warm up for a good 10 minutes today, and it was solid as a rock (yes, it was plugged in).
It's cold here too 54F 12C!!!
HAHAHAHA!!! Well to us Southern Californians, it's a deep freeze.
tonight the city council of calabasas, calif. banned smoking in all public places.
this includes outside areas including parks, sidewalks, camping areas, etc.. the only areas one can now smoke is in their private residence, on their private balcony but not in a common area, or in their car (so long as they don't exhale out the window).
(there are other areas but not sure of the full ins and outs of the ordinance).
I believe you can not smoke on the beach in a few So Cal cities now. I'm not a smoker and thought the move was a little bit extreme. But maybe it will help a few more people quit. Most smokers say they want to quit, so the more difficult it becomes maybe they will stop.
I work in LA and wished they would be a little more specific about their smoking in buildings law. We have a courtyard style office building. So people just stand outside their door and smoke because they are outside. Unfortunately, on those beautiful sunny days you can't keep your office door open because all the smoke starts to wander inside.
Ironically I think it's funny that some of the same people that want to stop public smoking are the same people that want to legalize marijuana.
the mega millions jackpot here in massachusetts stands at 160 million.

you know all the myspace.com warnings that were on here about elders on a witch hunt searching for active jw's blogs and using them against them?
well the elders didn't search but an old aquaintenance did.
she was disfellowshipped for her blogs concerning all the casual sex she was having.
Those stupid elders don't even follow their own advice. I would just post a blog or send them a letter that says "WWJD?"
in november last year my partner applied to become a police officer.
he received a letter saying he had passed stage 1 and would be invited to stage 2 which was an assessment centre.
stage 3 was a fitness test which he was sure to pass as he has been running 6 miles a night in preparation.. we received a letter in february 2006 telling us that 300 people had passes stage 1 but they only had 192 places at the assessment centre therefore he and 107 others had been 'randomly de-selected'.
Yeah here they have affirmative action. I think the people the originally thought it up meant well but it the way it was put into practice just plain sucks. No one is required to use the policy when hiring, but many public sector jobs do. I just hate the fact that although I am the best qualified candidate for the job, I am passed up because they have to fill a ethnic quota. I say may the best qualified candidate win.
But there's always discrimination. For instance, I was at the mall and walked by the Hello Kitty store. All the employees were young Japanese girls. I know that if I applied there to work, I would most likely be told that I'm not right for the job. Even if I was well qualified.
the other day i was in the break room at work, and the topic of strange religions came up.
i started talking about "the church of scientology" and all the weird things they believe with aliens and ancient rulers, etc.
well i was basically right on in their strange stuff, but the whole time was was calling the religion "christian scientist" religion, which is a more acceptable and less weird religion.
People do that all the time. I heard a very informative report on Christian Science and I actually liked some of the stuff they had to say. The modern forms of the religion don't reject medicine as people would have you believe but now use medicine to compliment prayer. Ideally it is one of those mind over matter things and I like the overall theme that you can acomplish anything, including overcoming illness, if you just put your mind to it. I was telling someone else about what I learned and they were confused with Scientology and they kept wanting to argue.
