  so my july 4th was not spectacular at all.

  after a nice lunch with a friend i started to have stomach cramps.

  by 5 in the afternoon it was so painful i could barely walk and i started to feel faint.

  Thanks everyone! I'm going to call my HMO today to check on who is on my contact list and how I can go about filing an advance medical directive.

  I'm sure part of my mom's concern is just part of being a mother, but her religion gets in the way.

  So my July 4th was not spectacular at all. After a nice lunch with a friend I started to have stomach cramps. By 5 in the afternoon it was so painful I could barely walk and I started to feel faint. I called the advice nurse at my HMO and she told me to get to the emergency room right away. It was thought to be my appendix but after two surgical consults and other tests they determined it was just inflammation. I was discharged at 4am. I called my mom just to let her know. Well just now she called and said, "if you were to have surgery, how am I supposed to know. do they know to call me?" I'm said, "You're not on my immediate emergency contact because you live almost 3,000 miles from me; and for something as routine as an appendectomy (spelling?) they wouldn't call." I was thinking maybe she was trying to bring up the blood issue. She was a little aggressive in her voice. I was waiting for her to "bring it on". HAHA

  hi.. i have decided to join this site and hopefully connect with some people who will know what my story has been.

  i guess it is best to read my profile, but the upshot of this new found technology is that i am no longer alone in my isolation.

  i can hopefully reach out and connect with people who really understand what it is like in my head!

  Welcome. I was gay until I found the Lord.

  Nah, just kidding. I'm gay and even got baptised thinking that would fix everything. Within a year I was out the door. My life has steadily gotten better since.

  Two Visits From Jehovah's Witnesses This Past Week

  my wife and i were both on ladders painting the exposed boards of our storage shed on a weekday when a car pulled into the driveway across the street.

  mr. and mrs. gomez were not at home.

  like most of the homeowners in this community, they use these homes only on weekends or holidays.

  With the first visit you mention how they parked in someone's driveway for a return visit. Oh that would just piss me off. Even if they were visiting me, I wouldn't want them parking in my driveway. Maybe it's just an LA thing.

  My favorite part was Kirstie Alley. she's so over dramatic "if I didn't have scientology, i wouldn't be alive" or something similar... i also thought it was strange that one of their testimonials was from a "Baptist Minister" yeah sure

  This "ticketing" pedestrians has nothing to do with making the roads safer----it's just another money grab.

  I totally agree. They try to disguise it as making the roads safer. Have they ever heard of darwinism? If you are too dumb to look both ways and get creamed then its your own fault.

  I hate how law enforcement wastes money on small stuff like this when there are bigger problems like gangs, rapists, murderers, and child predators.
