$12 for June. Was up from $8.50 for May. I'm expecting something around $30 for July because of the constant triple digits we have had here in LA.

So....here's my story....
by CordyC inhey guys, it's me- cordy, again with my life story of being in the jws.
i've lived in new york city almost all of my life and have been associated with the jws way too long- since i was a little kid- 8 years old in 1987, plus my mom studied as early as 1983. my mom didn't get baptized until 1995 and i myself got baptized at the age of 17 iin 1996. i know we were probably on a list at some point as a "non-progressive" bible study since it took us so long to get baptized.
my mom and dad split in 1993 and that year was great because we were barely at meetings....then we got a shepherding call and my mom got sucked right back in.

jstalin stole my quote! hehehehe
I totally agree with him. It's never too late to go to college. Even if it's one class a semester. community colleges are cheap cheap cheap and because of your financial situation you can probably go for free and even get help with living expenses if you take at least three classes a semester. Do it!! It's the best thing you can do with your life. -

Just thought this would be of interest to share.
by meatloaf inwhy have such a large family?
when we are out together we get questions like is this a school group?, are they all yours?, are you catholic or mormon?, dont you know what causes this?
these questions give us many opportunities to share with others the hope that is in us, that children are a gift from god.

Holy Holy!! 15!! Well my grandmother had 12 so I guess a difference of three is nothing when you're talking that many kids. If they can afford it, I'm all for people having children. It's when you can't afford one and you keep pumping them out there's a problem. Even if you don't believe in birth control just stop having sex.

Back From France...
by Bryan in...three weeks and sick the entire time!.
c'est la vie.. we toured practically the entire country because of evelyne's family moving and a long time friend's wedding.. the wedding was in la rochelle (west coast), stayed in cadillac (bordeaux), then just outside of toulouse (south), next was the dordogne area and stayed in sarlat, which has a beautiful medieval centre ville.
up to the orleans area (north/center) following back up to osny just north of paris.. it was tough for sebastien and me, especially, being sick.

All the time!!! Sometimes in Franglais/Frenglish. And everyone at my office does. We once had this girl though that thought everything was about her and whenever she would hear someone talking to themselves she would say "What?" It got annoying. But, I love thinking out loud. Vocalizing helps cement thoughts.

WT desparate: Aug 15 WT- In Our Next Issue: When A Loved One Leaves Jehovah
by truthseeker inno, i don't have this article yet, it will appear in the sep 1, 2006 wt.
it may even be a wt study article.. in the august 15 watchtower, the box "in our next issue" has three forthcoming articles, and one of them is "when a loved one leaves jehovah".
of interest, it's not when a loved one leaves the society, it's jehovah.. will keep you posted.

I find it funny that they mention "christian" and "christianity" a million times yet not one mention of Jesus at all. Not that I'm a Christian but if an organization claims to be Christian they should at least quote him in all of their teachings.

The pressure started at 13 and went on until I was 15 and the only one not baptized my age. I lasted about a year and then left.

Insensitive talk assignments
by Steve Lowry ini once was assigned a talk on masturbation when i was about fifteen or so.
the theme of the talk was to discourage masturbating (actually to forbid the practice), as it was considered by the society a no no.
looking back on it, it offends me to this day that they would give a kid such a sensitive and embarrassing talk assignment like that.

They assigned the masturbation talk to a young guy in our cong as well. Poor guy. Everyone felt so bad for him.
