i work for my father (a current jw) and we have some jw customers.
since my recent fading, one particular customer, an elder, has come into work for business and then carried it further to encouraging me offering a hearing ear etc.
You should not have to take steps to avoid him. Treat him like any other customer, and if he tries to talk about personal matters just say, "Is there something business related I can help you with?" If he persists, just say, "I appreciate your concern, but if I wish to discuss personal matters I'll do so with my husband, not with you."
If that doesn't work call the police. You do not have to tolerate harassment in the workplace.

That happened to me so many times! A lot of times there were only a few of us at the book study - me, my ex, the BS conductor and his wife were the only "regular ones". The MS in our group hardly ever showed up because he was often working overtime. (but I'm the one who got counselled for being "materialistic".) Sometimes I'd read every week for several months straight.
Whenever I needed a break I'd pretend I was sick and stay in the next room on the computer. Then my ex had to put something on her head and she would read. She'd be so pissed at me!

Large groups are harder to control than small ones.
When I first became a JW it wasn't unusual to find 25 or 30 people in a book study. Eventually they restructured to make the groups much smaller, with a maximum of 12 people. Their reason for doing this was so they could "pay closer attention to the needs of the individuals in the groups".
But we all know it's all about exercising tighter control, isn't it?
