  seriously...i think some dubs are living across the street from me and matt.

  i was talking to him about it last night and he was like, ''how the hell could you even know unless the told you?

  why not the catholic church or others religions?

  i dont understand that how a religion that douesn't go to war, don't buy guns, they preach for free they dont get paid,there not rasist, they love there neighbors they treat others well, they dont bother you if you dont want them to pass by your house they wont.

  why so much hate, if they go strictly by what the bible says.

  Do your elders know you're here? Because if they do you won't be a JW for long. They'll call you an apostate and DF you.

  i haven't read up on it, and my only exposure to it is a few people that say they believe in it.

  correct my amateurish view of it, please.. karma is the overriding force in the universe that keeps the good/evil scales in balance.

  But I think that people should'nt judge others so harshly

  Judging people harshly is what Jehovah's Witnesses have done throughout their history. They claim that everyone, even babies, who are not JWs deserve to be killed at Armageddon.

  why Adam really died?

  some have mentioned that it seems that god lied about the cause of adams death as adam really died of old age.

  but an author of a book called the secret origins of the bible pointed out something even more astonishing..... the bible plainly tells us why adam was forbidden from living forever..... it does not say he was punished for sin [something he did], but instead it specifies that he was prevented for what he.

  might do with the knowledge he obtained.... here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad, and now in order.

  seems more that God feared mankind's use of knowledge and cooperation more than he hated the sins already committed.

  Sounds kinda like the watchtower and their fear of education.

  from september 2004 to july 2005, there has been no increase in the number of publishers reporting for the 2005 service year, which began last september.

  september 2004 - 990,551 .

  october 2004 - 993,476 .

  I don't pay any attention to their statistics. For all we know the numbers could be fudged, and probably are. I go by what I saw with my own eyes:

  1. Smaller congregations.
  2. Declining attendence even among active publishers™.
  3. Frequent restructuring of circuits. They always said it was due to expansion, but attendence at assemblies was down.
  4. Fewer baptisms at assemblies and conventions.
  5. Lower attendence at district conventions.
  6. Fewer "interested ones" coming to meetings.
  7. I rarely see JWs in service now™. I used to see them all the time.
  8. Even the number visiting Tim Hortons seems to be declining on Saturday mornings.

  The organization is dying a slow but certain death.

  well, according to his hometown's former city official, it may not have been bob dougherty's first attempt at claiming some toilet seat stick-down.

  dougherty's attorney, mark cohen, said this latest allegation "... doesn't make any sense".

  There's never been glue involved. This guy's problem is that he needs to wash his butt.

  That does it, from now on I'm bringing a bottle of bleach when I use public restrooms. I'm not taking any chances.

  hello, my bible study conductor has made this statement on several occasions.

  is it true?

  i've heard that the name was removed from the old testament, but that it doesn't appear in the new testament.

  If I recall correctly, the society claims they restored the name in the OT, but admitted the NT manuscripts didn't include the name Jehovah, so they inserted it where they thought it was appropriate.
