  The Pastor of my Old Church Tried to Re-Convert Me Yesterday

  yesterday evening my wife and i were invited to friends house for new year's eve.

  we met them when i was a christian and we have kept in touch.

  they had a few other friends there as well, including the new church pastor and his wife.

  If your mother doesn't love you enough to have a normal relationship with you then she can't possibly love your children either. Her purpose is to make converts out of them and create a rift between you and your children.

  Never allow anyone to teach your children that it's OK to disrespect you.

  I need help in dealing with a toxic family member!!!!

  i have a close family member who is a pro in using shame to try to make me feel bad.

  they are coming to stay at my place soon and the issue of me and mrs hoser not attending/ doing field service will come up no doubt.. i need some advice on how to deal with this because whenever i deal with these relatives they make me feel worthless.

  it is probably part because they are jw's and jw's motivate by fear and guilt.. .

  Were People Surprised When You Left The Witnesses?

  mine was a gradual going away.

  but once it dawned on them, i think people were shocked that i left the religion i espoused from youth.. were people "in the truth" and "in the world" surprised by your departure?.

  No. I was regarded as a dirty, filthy, ex biker, and it was only a matter of time before I returned to my old life of debauchery. They were probably surprised that I lasted 20 years as a JW.

  that juror now faces a possible contempt of court charge.the trial of a man involved in a high speed crash that killed a prince george's county police officer last year ended in a mistrial.. one of the jurors told the judge via email thursday morning that judging others was a violation of her religion as a jehovah's witness, news4's prince george's county bureau chief tracee wilkins reported.. kevon darnell neal, 23, was charged with vehicular manslaughter and fleeing and eluding following the death of officer adrian morris, 23.. morris and his partner were pursuing a stolen silver acura when their cruiser ran off interstate 95 near the powder mill road exit in august 2012. morris died after being ejected from the vehicle.

  Jehovah's Witnesses were pretty quick to adversely judge me for going to school one night a week. I lost all my "privileges".

  i think i have deprogrammed pretty quick so far compared to many with all their loved ones in.

  i am enjoying meeting up with posters off the board and fbing some too.

  In the ten years since I left the JWs I've had a number of "friends" come and go, but I've had one real friend throughout that time. Not bad. It's one more than I had during my 20 years as a JW.

  Between a challenging career, hobbies, and a bird who craves constant attention, it's hard to find time to go out and find new friends.

  can anyone save me the stress of listening to the self-appointed faithful & discreet slave for 3 hours, and give a clue as to roughly at what point in the proceedings was the derogatory term 'bum witnesses used, and by whom?

  i'd really love to extract that comment and send it to a weakening witness, to highlight the judgmental arrogance and name-calling being displayed.. many thanks in advance folks!.
