  i have found a little quote of theirs that i found very silly.

  the next time you are trying to discuss with a jw and find yourself losing your cool, just imagine them being a good dub and following the directions here:.

  He gave me a stupid grin and said it was because I talk so much he already knows what I'm going to say.

  I was a little more tactful when discussing this subject with my ex. I told her she was repeating herself ad nauseum.

  Last Generation Of Jehovah's witnesses?

  here's an interesting idea my brother and i have been discussing when we do parking lot duty during the service meetings.

  we've come to the conclusion that this is essentially the last generation of jehovah's witnesses.

  i thought you'd have to be young to notice this, but its pretty apparent anywhere we go.

  So, I wonder what steps the Watchtower will take to tighten its grip on people.

  Maybe they'll include a keystroke logger in an upcoming version of it's Watchtower CD Library.

  Demographics within WTS

  i asked an elder when i was younger if the society had a census on who was in the organization.

  things such as race, gender, age and wealth (kind of hard to find for the last) he told me no.

  he said that the only thing that the only thing that was reported to brooklyn was who was baptized and if someone was disfellowshipped.. do you think theres a reason they dont tell us the women to men ratio or am i just looking to deep into this?

  One other thing that determines a "sister's" marriagability is submissiveness, or at least the appearance of submissiveness. A woman can be spiritual, attractive, and wealthy, but if she appears to be unsubmissive a "brother" will think twice about marrying her. Especially if he wants to make "progress" in the congregation.

  My ex was very spiritual, intelligent, and attractive. But she also spoke her mind. If she thought something was screwed up she said so. And she didn't care who she said it to. I liked that about her, but the elders certainly didn't, and my PO told me that she was the reason why I would never be a MS.

  New Testament Paradise Earth

  one of the things that bothers me is the very little or almost non-existent way the paradise earth is talked about in the new testament.

  i've never heard a dub even think about that for one second.. the only occasions i can think of that the dubs use to show the new testament does in fact talk paradise earth is the scripture at matthew 5:5 (about mild tempered ones, or meek inheriting the earth), revelation 21:3,4 (about no more sickness, sorrow, suffering nor death) and jesus on the cross saying that the guy next to him would be with jesus in paradise.. none of these are overly convincing.

  why didn't the apostles talk more about the paradise.

  I apologize if I'm changing the subject, but I've noticed how many JWs and ex-JWs use "New Testament" or "Old Testament" or "OT" or "NT", etc. As a JW, I never liked the cumbersome "Christian Greek Scriptures", etc. I wonder if others felt the same way....

  Yes, it always irritated me too. It's another example of them doing something just to be different rather than actually having a reason. W

  What is not mentioned (and makes the picture MUCH worse) is the fact that some men in the congregation are not "right" and are unmarriageable for various reasons which I won't go into. I don't mean to sound cruel but it is true. To add further insult to injury, it is highly unlikely they are even educated so what kind of earning potential do they even have?

  This was the case in my last congregation. There were quite a few single women, all intelligent and attractive. There were only 3 single "brothers", and all 3 of them had something obviously "wrong" with them. They were all uneducated pioneers™ who worked at menial low paying jobs. I wouldn't necessarily call them "retarded" but each one displayed some physical and/or mental manifestation that something wasn't quite right. (that didn't prevent them from being MS though). It was impossible for the "sisters" to find an unmarried intellectual equal in that congregation.

  On top of that you have the Society encouraging men to remain single so they can attend the Ministerial training School, which does not accept married "brothers".

  It especially irritated me to see intelligent "sisters" leave excellent careers to pioneer just to make themselves more attractive to these "brothers" that were so obviously beneath them.

  National JW Day?

  i had an idea.......what if once a year or so all apostates and anit-jw's showed up at the kingdom hall for services?

  even if they didnt even speak, just the mere presence of a few apostates in the crowd.

  but make it known to all congs that this is the day.
