did any of you stuggle for have good conversations with the friends, before and after meetings?
i know i did.. by meaningful conversations, i mean in-depth discussions about events, news, beliefs.
it seems that jw's .
I noticed this, and actually timed some of the conversations I managed to get in to. Few lasted more than 3 minutes. I suspect it was a result of reduced attention span caused by the structure of the watchtower study, which makes it difficult for people to concentrate on more than one paragraph at a time.

i was talking to someone at my new job - she has known me for about 3 months and had something like 2 five minute conversations with me about the jws.. she said "you do come across as really bitter about it".. (note she is definately not a jw).. it was a real eye opener, because although i try and educate people about the truth of jws, i didn't think i was "bitter".. what about you?

You're kinder than me. I don't think they're insane - I think many of them are fully aware of their abusive practices. Putting them away simply increases the financial burden on the taxpayer. I still think they should douse themselves with gasoline and set themselves ablaze on national television.

a friend of mine read a book about 30 years ago, that said people are basically categorized into two main types.
here's how you define yourself:.
when you walk into a room full of people, do you think to yourself "here i am" or do you say "there you are".. i am definitely a "there you are".

First there's the problem of getting me to enter a room full of people. If I enter such a room at all the first thing I'll do is look for a beer. While enjoying my beer I let people come up to me and say hello. If no one does so much the better. I'll keep any conversations as short as possible. Then I'll look for an excuse to leave.

elders were famous for making up stupid rules with no bible base at all as an ego trip i guess, what were some of yours?
i am not talking about the stupid rules that we all had to follow, just the congregation specific silly ones.. 1. having to button your jacket while on stage (this was later changed due to all the elders having a beer gut).
2. suits only or no privledges.
We had to carry our watchtowers when handling the mics - and you can be sure the elders checked to make sure they were underlined. Several times when doing mics I noticed the PO's watchtower wasn't underlined, so I raised a bit of a stink about it because he should set the example.
He started underlining his watchtower, but I lost my microphone privileges™.

A more interesting question to me is if anyone here has ever pretended to be a Witness to any unknown Witness you see out?
I was tempted this morning when I saw a JW woman I knew some years back. She's still pretty hot. But I'm sure she knows I'm an apostate.

Just go to Tim Hortons on Saturday mornings at 11 am. Half the congregation will be there. The other half is on their way.

When sitting in a restaurant you sometimes overhear buzzwords like "elder" or "pioneer" coming from the next table.
Makes me sick. They can't even turn it off long enough to eat.

recently as old friend of mine was just dfed for fornication.. apparently, the girl he "sinned" with was worked with an ex dub and she shared some intimate details about their relationship.. anyways, the ex dub told her elder father and also wrote a letter to his congo.. when the elders questioned him, he pitched a fit and told them where to go.. he seems to be okay with the decision, but it bothers me that a ex dub would turn him in.. have you heard of something like this happening with anyone you knew?

Good point. Problem is I can't remember liking any.
On the other hand, I can think of a few that looked kinda hot. They might be worth saving.
