I think I still have a trenchcoat hanging in my closet. Probably full of moth holes by now.

i had a lot of anger towards them for a good amount of time.
but now, i like to think about the good times we had.
i like to think about their attributes i admired.

True, the uniforms are a dead giveaway.

It's been nearly 8 years since I've been to a meeting. My memory of the people is blurred. I probably wouldn't recognize most of them if I passed them on the street. No loss. We weren't ever friends anyway.

with apologies to laverite.... growing up as a jw i always imagined the new system (tm) as being just like it's presented in the literature (tm).
i thought we'd all be hanging around with dorky looks on our faces, petting tigers and panda bears all day while we eat fruit and practice our dorky grins.. peronsally, i've never seen an illustration from the society showing modern conveniences.
the people in the illlustrations are always working in a garden somewhere (while wearing meeting clothes) or looking heavenward with a frontal lobotomy smile.. i think to be able to survive in this new world, i would need alcohol and lots of it.

You forgot the inch thick glaze over the eyes.

the scare bells are ringing again in the congregations.
this past week, the field service group leader/commander/overlord/whatever made a pretty lengthy announcement that, going forward, the field service groups are going to be of the utmost importance as we wind down towards the end here.
while no indication on when this end might actually be, it was hinted that we might not always have access to the congregation proper and that the few families that are part of the fsg would have to become close knit that they might depend on one another when things get ugly.. i haven't read everything that has passed through the wbts' sphincter lately, but did i miss something?
They used to say the same thing about the book study...look what happened to that.
I remember that. They used to go on and on about how the BS was so important, and that under bans and the 'great tribulation' it would be our only lifeline to 'gods organization'.

And I like Outlaw, even though he never responds to any of my posts.
Don't take it personal. He's busy working on his beer and KFC.

if the carrot and stick aspect of being jehovahs witnesses upset you how do you reclaim your desire for reward?
i'm assumng that you all agree with me that feeling rewarded is a basic human desire.
how much effort do you think we should put into trying to make our lives rewarding?
I no longer feel guilty for failing to live up to someone else's ideals. Now it's my life, and I set the standards.

hi everybody, i was wondering how were you dealing with the snow.here in connecticut the snow is brutal.so i was wondering how people were surviving was is being the worst winter since 1978..
We're being warned about a snowstorm that's supposed to start tonight. They're estimating 30+ cm of snow. It's not that much, but a pain in the ass for me. The battery in my truck is dead and needs to be replaced, I'm nearly out of groceries, and I'm hobbling around with a bum leg.
I should have known better. This always happens when I neglect to fill my freezer in the fall.

I like the signs
I should make a 'blow up' of my avatar for a sign. Then I can picket something other than my nose.
