a producer with nbc in new york called within the past hour to tell me that the segment i interviewed for (once in nashville, tn in august and once in washington, dc in october) is set to air tonight on nbc nightly news with brian williams, that is, if no huge calamity takes place to bump the feature.

this piece will be two minutes and 45 seconds long, the longest slot nightly news has for topics of interest, and will feature a discussion about the court documents that are found on the cd i recently produced, "secrets of pedophilia in an american religion, jehovah's witnesses in crisis.

in addition, nbc's internet site, msn, will follow with a detailed story.

Why God permits wickedness..the argument and counter logic

when i was a pioneer i used to get the comment a lot, as i am sure most here have.. my stock answer was the analogy.... wt 2002 10/1 page 7 as an example.

imagine a father allowing his child to go thru a painful operation in-order to get better...hence why god permits suffering.

anyway i used to trot this out without any counter arguments.. even when i left, it still seemed a reasonable explanations, then something clicked.

Most Witnesses Don't Know the "Current Truth" on Matthew 5:5!

matthew 5:5: "happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.".

if you ask most witnesses what this verse means, they will say that it means those who are meek/mild/humble will be given the earth as a reward to live forever on.

i was surprised to find out that this is not the official watchtower teaching of that verse.

ok, so the may 1st wt says that elders aren't to question anyone who partakes.

but many of you have posted that they are about to rule change about the 144k... haven't they already changed the dogma if elders can't question... doesn't that mean anyone can partake?

so what changes are going to occur that are more shocking then the generation of 1935 thing and whatnot?.

"1935- Was it just a coincidence that Carey Barber (b 1905) was dying and that this issue came the following month after his death(Apr 07). He and Barr (b. 1913) were/are the only remaining GB that were both born before 1914 and adults when the 1935 cut-off was announced." That probably explains it. I bet with all of the GB who have died in the past two years thay needed a way to justify inducting more. "I was wondering if there are any opinions on how much longer they have until 1914 needs to be addressed/ adjusted? I mean how long is Jesus' gonna be sitting up there and nothing happening down here?" Have You Divorced And/Or Remarried- What Did You Learn From It ?

in seeing a lot of posters threads , i feel i see many people who have been divorced at one time , and either have remarried or have stayed single .

i totally understand those who choose to stay single, as i was single for 6 years before i got married again !

as experts say, next to death it's one of the hardest experiences you'll go through !

This thread really resonates for me as I am going through a divorce. Some comments that I appreciated were: "Don't hold things in if they bother you. Its not a sign of weakness if you are a man and your feelings get hurt." Plus the thoughts on being yourself and knowing what you cannot tolerate. Mrs. Flipper's comments really give me hope as I know that I do not want to be alone and a good woman is definitely out there. I may already have met her, but that is a story for another day. Isaac

New meeting phone conference system?

i went over to a some older stay at home jws.

it was time for the meeting.

they called a local phone #.

The one from Texas is new. The standard system just used regular phone lines. The Hall could wire up to five lines to the sound system. So some Halls had/have less. It was a matter of local discretion. Isaac

What was said earlier about "test driving" match my thoughts exactly. I have now tried dating normally and it is such a different experience. One day (hopefully soon) I can talk more about it but my God, what the hell was I doing when I dated and married as a JW? Isaac
