Oh my, I was just about to start a thread about this. I actually need to read others stories. It still hurts losing all of my friends. Further I am still confused as to whether I should "let them be" when I see them or take the initiative in greeting them. I know that would hurt me more but if its the right thing to do then so be it. Please keep commenting on this one.

the wts has sent a letter to all convention overseers expressing their increasing concern at sisters "directing brothers" at district conventions.. with immediate effect (ie for dc 2008), sisters are no longer to be used as volunteers in parking and security / watchman departments.
any sisters volunteering in other departments (eg toilet cleaning) must be subordinate & follow the direction of appointed brothers.
this move will put a huge burden on the dcs in my area - nearly half the volunteers for parking are sisters and there aren't enough volunteers as it is.
You wonder why they even have first aid. As far as parking here in NYC sisters are never used for parking for just the reason Dozy mentioned. Its a wonder that it took so long to make that uniform.

it's been a crazy ride for over 25 years, pretty much raised as a witness (ever since i could remember), rebelled against my parents, came back, straighten out for a little while, married within "the truth", but the last 5 to 7 years, i've been seriously questioning the changes and doctrines established by the wts.
never thought i would be looking from this side of the fence.

I empathize with you. My ex has gone back in and is trying to take my daughter back as well. So I am putting up resistance. Even though we are getting divorced, largely because of the JWs, it still hurt to be told yesterday that I am being controlled by Satan and am a puppet in his hands doing his work. I can only imagine how it would feel to hear that kind of thing in one's own home.
