much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

Live music in the Kingdom Halls
by Quillsky ini recall being young and having a lovely solo pianist accompanying the singing in our hall.. in around the late 70's the obligatory (canned, sad) recorded music replaced live musicians.. anyone have any more detailed memories of live music and the subsequent changeover?.

We had a piano here (NYC), but most inner city folks don't get the chance to learn piano. But sometimes CO wives would come and treat us to their playing.

for me personally, it was the way they always downgrade jesus to be an angel and are promoting the governing body in his place.. also when the society taught that jesus was abaddon/apollyon the fallen angel in revelation..

Officially elders are not allowed to listen or peruse electronic evidence. I had this issue come up in at least one case, and the reasoning the Service Department gave was similar to what OTWO states.

a couple of months ago she was getting fed up of living with a 'sister' in her 60s who imposed rules and regulations on her - my sister is 30 and doesnt need a woman who isnt her mother setting rules for her and playing the 'truth' card as a landlady.. my sister got fed up and decided she wanted to move out.

Watching The Truman Show was a pivotal event in my exit. It was so obvious to me that his life was much like mine. The similarities in control were incredible to me at the time. How everything could be manipulated, seem so real, and yet be so facke was mind boggling. Of course I couldn't express this to anyone. But it got me thinking. For me this is one of the most serious movies I've ever seen.
