  we had a boe letter read recently.

  the september 2006 awake will be 100% dedicated to the "creation vs. evolution" issue.. even the "young people ask" article will be something like "how can i defend my belief in creation in school?

  also, i think one of the articles is entitled "does the bible support the notion that the earth was created in 6 24-hour days?".

  I deeply believe that this is one of the strongest indictments against the WT. What could people be doing with this time? Taking care of their health? Drawing closer to their families? Reading the Bible? Whatever it is, it is fair to say that they are killing those who follow their policies. Literally. And particularly for those who don't understand the doctrines, this may be the very thing that will turn them against the WT.

  i was reading the book 'apocalypse delayed' by james penton and came to the part that disucessed the crackdown that occured in the org during the early 1980's.

  one of the referances made note to a talk that was recorded in which fred franz spoke to a congregation in queens, ny and yelled at them in spanish.

  has this ever made it's was to the internet?

  The idea is being floated by some JWs that this business with North Korea will lead to Russia and the North Koreans joining forces and becoming the King of the North. This because of Russia's push for a diplomatic solution rather than UN sanctions and the alleged desire of Russian citizens to go back to Communism for the security it gave them..

  Governing Body member Gerrit Lösch spoke at my District Convention

  gerrit losch (it's pronounced kinda like "lirsh") did two things at our dc (portland, or june 30-july 2).

  he released the new book about the minor prophets, and he gave the closing talk, the one with the resolution in it.

  first of all, losch was not promoted to the governing body because of his speaking ability.

  A couple of years ago at a DC I attended he basically said that the 'light gets brighter' interpretation of Prov. 4:11 was wrong. I was so shocked. I knew he was right but could not believe that he said it. If I still have the recording I will make it available.
