I think the story's metaphorical meaning, however, is that man needs diversity and dispersion to evolve fully and timely.
That is an excellent thought. I'd never considered that before.
On the thread topic, I think we may be seeing what would happen right now. What I mean is that the governments that we have now are the result of our tweaking, modifying and evolving our systems over millenia.

Wow, what a crock of s**t in that 1927 Awake! Looks like Rutherford's writing. Can you imagine it? They actually were teaching the the Civil War and the abolition of slavery was the Devil's work! And they were supposedly already God's Channel! And these morons were writing from NYC. Henry Ward Beecher's church is near Bethel. Unbelievable! Thye can talk about how 100 years ago the Catholic Church believed this, yet they did as well and not a word. It makes me hate the GB.

I seem to remember Jim Olson. About how old was he? I grew up in NYC and know a lot of bethelites. Richard Wheelock, also from the Factory, married my parents. I thought of him reading your story as he also died at bethel. His was a suicide.

That last picture Unclebruce put up looks like Wille Nelson for God's sake! Anyway on a more serious note, maybe the blacks became servants of Jehovah, devoted themselves to prayer and turned white. Like that Mr. Draper the WT mentioned in the 1900's who was black and prayed to be white and became "fully nine-tenths white"!

"now fully nine-tenths white"! I love it! When I first read this I was still a dub. What proof to me that they were NOT teaching the Bible when Christ supposedly showed up.

Yup, they are soon to be the "soon" cult! They can't make dates anymore without looking stupid. So this is all they have left. You'd think dubs would wake up and see how ridiculous that soon business is. At least from your post it's obvious that you are.

It actually felt like a weight was lifted when I realized that there really isn't any such thing. I think the whole "need the new system" thing just messes with one's mind, self-esteem, and leaves one in bondage to the WT future.
