I wish I had the good judgment years ago to walk out and boycott certain offensive talks like that!
Good for you, and hurray for your kids.
I brought my dad to a Sunday talk (the only time he came to a KH talk) and like you I did not know the discussion. Yep, it was on Self Abuse.
My Straightshooting Dad got right up out of his seat and left saying he had never in his life heard such talk in a church.
Thanks Wacktower.
Later he disinherited me from his will stipulating that not one penny of his hard earned money would ever go to the Watchtower Cult.

I walked out of the "Oral Sex" instruction meeting today, anti witness!
by MinisterAmos inany of you ex-dubs who are wondering why you left should read the study lesson today on oral sex.
let's also consider that the borg considers it essential that the brothers bring their young childer to all the meetings and make sure that they pay attention to the material.
the material this week included a very detailed description of oral sex!

I just started a new job.
I have a happy life now, post JW, and I admit I show it.
My happiness has come the attention of our very unhappy boss whose abusive side has been pricked and challenged by my joyful attitude.
Oh the joy.
He is trying very hard to play the Grinch and rob us all of joy at this time of year.
But we are all of us putting up a hard fight to keep our hope and joy and friendship between us and have a Christmas party at work.
He has called me Mrs. Santa, The Store Mom, and now Polly Anna.
F@#& him!!!
He has no idea what I have been through!!!! I AM NO POLLYANNA!!!
I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HELL ON EARTH IS LIKE! I KNOW WHAT LONELINESS AND HEARTBREAK AND ABANDONMENT IS LIKE!
I KNOW WHAT FEELING FRIENDLESS AND WITHOUT GOD IS LIKE!
BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE IN IT! I REFUSE TO GIVE UP HOPE THAT PEOPLE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Think about the difference a good mother or father makes in ones life. Or a wonderful brother, sister or friend can make. How about the kindness of a stranger to affect ones life?
Kindness, mercy, love, patience, forgiveness can bring so much good into the world!
So what if there is no heaven or hell!
We are alive today and life is a miracle! Everyone who is wonderful in your life (family, friend or co-worker, neighbor) is a miracle and gift to you to keep on living.
We should enjoy life and enjoy all those we have in our lives who bring us joy and happiness and love and humor and laughter.
I want to be someone who brings courage and love into the world.
And this sicko creep is not going to stop me!!!!
So your post Changling hit a nerve with me.
Thankyou for bringing up this topic.
Even here on JWD, we need to realize there are very unhappy people on earth. But they need us more than ever.
Peace,

The individual who suffers is considered less important among the JWs than the image of the Watchtower Society.

I have some good news I'm going to share with you at JWD
by noni1974 insome of you may know i'm a cab driver and i have been one for 3 years.the company i've been working for doesn't require a hack license.a hack license is a thing in my line of work needed to work in most big citys as a cab driver.you have to take a test to prove you know the city and if you pass you get your hack license.not many people can pass the test.. i've been working for a suburban cab company so i never needed one before.well a few weeks ago i looked into changing cab companys.so i called one and talked to the general manager about coming to that company.he was excited about it and set me up to take this test.i took the test a few weeks ago.i failed the first time but i had a feeling when i left that i was going to fail.not because i don't know my city but because the test asks for exact address of major attractions businesses and hotels through out not only the city but the county as well.. so the following week i took the test again.i had a good feeling this time.i tried to call the guy back and get my results on the day i was supposed to.i couldn't get him on the phone.i started to think i had failed again so i thought i would let a few weeks go by and call him again to take the test again.. well he called me yesterday and said i had passed.i am so excited.so my good news is i am changing cab companys.i can now work in the city of cleveland with out worrying about getting a ticket.now all i have to do is pass the drug test which is not a problem for me because i don't do any kind of drugs at all and a dot phyical.. the reason for the change is i'm not making enough money at my currant company.we are only allowed to pick people up in the burbs and that makes it hard to make money.this company has many school trips paid for by the school boards and county.i will be able to have the cab 24/7 if i want.i can drive when ever i want without having to go and pick up a cab.. i know 2 guys who went to this cab company this year.the first went this summer and he told me he's making between 1400.00 a week and 900.00 a week take home.i'm making between 400.00 and 500.00 a week now.so i'll be making way more money..

So glad for you!
I had no idea cabbies made such good money!
Good to hear you are overcoming your lack of education in the JWs to be able to feed yourself and keep a roof.
So many of us are struggling due to our JW past. -

Anointed looking a bit younger - Feb 15th WT
by The Scotsman inbeen a wee while since i have been here, holidays and stuff.. anyway, i received the new feb 15th wt last night, the one with the generation change.
they have inserted an image that is meant to represent the anointed class, it is not like the usual ones.
generally these pics would have them with gray hair looking very old, but this image "in my opinion" seems to show them a bit younger.

Wouldnt surprise me if my ex announces he's now anointed.
Pretty tempting for those wishing to appear saintly. -

To those who've been DFed...
by IsaacJS2 ini was just wondering if anyone ever tried to find a mature way to defy their supposed authority to judge you this way and what sort of reactions you got.
i haven't been dfed, but it could certainly happen some day.. i'm not planning to meekly put up with the preaching next time witnesses try it on me, which has made me wonder about this.
it seems a bit immature to go right up to them and say "hiya!

My style is to appear very happy and relaxed and unfazed by their presence.
This last summer my new husband and mother in law and I were eating in a local restaurant when in walks
an elder and his wife from my old congregation.
It has been six years since my dfing and departure from their lives.
I continued to enjoy my meal and new family and completely ignored the other couple.
As they got up to leave the husband walked by me in silence, but the wife smiled and squeezed my shoulder and whispered "Good to see you"
I only smiled and nodded and continued with my forkful of food.
My family wondered and asked who that woman was who touched me and spoke to me.
I told them that we had been sitting right next to old friends of mine who came to my first wedding and who I had known for 35 years but who were under orders not to speak to me.
I was proud of myself for behaving so graciously towards those who shun me.
I hope they too will someday wake up to reality and realize the man-made prison they are in. -

Last night I treated my husband to a key lime pie lick-off.
Women, make your man feel like you are thinking about their bodies all day long with longing and lust.
Describe for them what you are going to do to them when they get home. They absolutely LOVE THAT!
Then of course, do it, and give them something to think about and day dream about for the next
few days. This healthy exchange of lusty talk and activities draws their hearts and souls to you.
It is so important that you make them feel desired. You might love them, but you MUST SHOW IT in a way they feel it. Men want to feel desired. You must find a way to keep that fire burning in your relationship or they will look elsewhere for it. It is just human.
And the same is true for women of course. Men, every time you walk through a room where your wife is, make sure you touch her tenderly in some way. Smooth her hair, pat her butt, stroke her back, whisper into her ear how much you love her and her soft body.
Do these small acts of loving connection frequently, daily, and it will help to keep your mate from straying. -

Wanting to just FREAKIN run away....I think I know why now...
by oompa inthe past year or so was year was really, really bad as i came to realize the waking up experience.
once i knew for sure wt was a sham, (although maybe sincere), i had this immediate feeling i would have to leave.....everything.
of course my wife was already going nuts from all my study, questions, doubts, letters to society, meetings with elders....but once i really knew and felt i would have to leave.... i did leave several times.

Oompa, listen to me. You are ok. But you are leaving yourself no room for another possibility.
You are creating either/or scenarios, black/white, truth/lie, right/wrong, this/that,
them/me, life/death. These thoughts are running through your head and making you absolutely miserable.
PLEASE SEE A REAL DOCTOR AND GET SOME MEDS-----ZOLOFT, LEXAPRO, PAXIL,.....THEY ARE ALL GOOD.
When we experience long term stress it can rob us of some vital balancing ingredients that help us cope with life and people and issues. They call it Post Traumatic Syndrome. It was identified first in soldiers coming back from combat, but now doctors identify it in sensitive people who undergo prolonged stress.
I think being a witness is very stressful. Taking on such a large responsibility of preaching to the world and being responsible for its blood if we dont preach and save them is very stressful. Dealing with JW teens who are having difficulty seeing the value of the JW lifestyle can be difficult for the parents who themselves are struggling with the long wait for the fairy tale paradise.
Seeing friends and family grow old and die without experiencing the long awaited New Kingdom under Christ is very stressful and adds to the growing doubts. Experiencing mean elders and gossipy sisters and feeling ignored or unloved in ones congregation too is stressful.
Feeling pathos for the world and wanting to help in more ways instead of arrogantly stating they are all in the hands of the devil and good riddance is in itself hard to deal with.
Too many meetings and too little fun and relaxation. Too little money due to too little education is worrisome.
What I am trying to say is, you are not alone in the mental state you feel you are in. I can totally relate! I was having anxiety attacks during family get togethers. I was behaving in strange ways.
Looking back I was needing meds and a true friend WHO CARED MORE FOR ME THAN FOR THE DAMN WATCHTOWER ORGANIZATION AND WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THOUGHT!!!!!
Thats what you need. You must get to a doctor and get some Zoloft. Try it. It will help.
It will quell and soothe the extreme bouncing of negative thoughts that produce nothing but panic or ultimatums in your brain.
Oompa we all love you here and want you to get through this awful time in your life successfully.
This will pass and you will be fine.
Others have been through what you are experiencing.
Please do what I say and get to a real medical doctor quickly.
You will be ok.
Sincerely,
Anewme
