The appeal process is a joke!!!

it was pretty messed up.

i appealed and two of the three elders on my appeal commity were from our sister congregation.

when i turned in my appeal letter, the elder i turned it in to tried to talk me out of appealing.

You said it right Jake, man made religions are like a club with some members elected to be leaders and some followers/slaves and they all have the cliques and sorrows and play the power games that all organizations have.

True faith is your own relationship with the creator and to invite others into that relationship is to invite trouble.

Really sorry you are so disturbed by this new revelation kiddo. Just chill and enjoy being out of that very weird group.

Stick around here and we will teach you how to enjoy each day of living and life to the full!
You dont need their approval anymore.
You only need your God given conscience and your own heart's approval.

How Would You Feel?

dear friends,.

i realize that this has already happened to some of you, but it is a new experience for me.

a mutual friend put me in touch with old jw friends and family from my former congregation who have exited the organization.

It would be wonderful to reunite with old friends who knew me from the last 35 years. It is a huge loss to have ones' past erased as if it never happened.

So much for the saying that "Jehovah remembers all your hard work and the love you showed for his name"

Did being a JW make you overly judgemental?

looking back, being a jw meant constantly analyzing and categorizing others.

on field service, persons were either "sheeplike" or "goatlike".

in the congregation it went even further.

Yes, and I found it a particularly hard habit to break.
But now, being out for 7 years and doing a lot of independent thinking about life and truth and reality,
I am much more tolerant and accepting and mellow about many things that used to bristle me or rub me the wrong way.

I am not the judge of the world nor do I feel compelled to save souls from some Armageddon.

I do feel an obligation to my species to be kind and considerate and show courage and integrity.

December 21, 2000.......thrown to the road! (After 35 years of faithful service)

Tried for six months to get reinstated in 2005 and attended every meeting, but one day, after leaving a particularly boring meeting and an unfriendly atmosphere towards me, asked myself "why?" and never went back again.

Most days I never think of the JW religion now nor the family and friends I left behind.

Small dog owners...please take note

we just had a horrible episode in our back yard.

as most of you know i have two warlock dobermans.

they are very large and powerful.

Dear Restrangled, I am the owner of two little chihuahuas. You are right. We small dog owners need to keep our dogs under supervision as much as the owners of large breeds.

I think was was taken today

i was walking to my car after work, it was very cold (low 40's f) and getting dark and a beggar woman walks up to me sobbing and crying about being cold.

she didn't want to go through another very cold night light last night (low 30's f) and she needed money to get into a local shelter.

yes, it costs $12 per night to get into a homeless shelter... that's texas for ya.

Man, I've spent $10 on cat food and bird seed!

I think you did the right thing Elsewhere.

She was a poor unfortunate woman!

And you definitely were her savior that night!

I would feel glad about your generosity if I were you!

Better to err on the loving side, because we cant read minds or hearts.
