Oh I just remembered a funny memory! Years ago we had an elderly brother in our hall. He had never married and he took care of his elderly mother until she died. He became a pioneer and we sisters all took a sisterly interest in him. We went with him to pick out wonderful suits at the mens clothiers and he began to look FINO! Then we begged him to let us pluck his bushy eyebrows and nose hairs and ear hairs. We had so much fun turning him into an elderly HUNK!
He became a regular visitor to a sister's beauty salon.

I remember a woman named Betty who was studying with a friend of mine at the time. The year was 1973. I had just been baptized in April of that year. Betty had a lot to overcome, smoking, and a drinking problem she acknowledged. They gave her six months to discontinue both. With much dedication, AA and sheer will and love for what she had come to believe was the truth she abandoned her smoking and drinking and was baptized surrounded by lots of applause at the next circuit assembly.
(Of course she suspiciously moved far away immediately afterwards.....so we wish dear Bette the best!) -

I heard about hurting the ignition by carrying too many trinkets on the key ring, so when I got my new car I chose only to have the car key and the house key and that springy colored coily thingy so you can wear it around your wrist.
Trouble is it looks like alot of other people's key rings in this town now!
Our town gave out key rings at the last 4th of July fun! -

Anybody here who still has faith in God and belief in the Bible?
by Sheepish inthere seems to be a lot of folks here who are bitter and want nothing to do with organized religion (understandable!
) or the belief in a god who cares about us, and has a "plan".or even anyone who has actually read and studied the bible, and understands what's going on it it.
so many just take stuff out of context looking for "mistakes" and loopholes.

When I first got dfd I saw it as an opportunity to review all my beliefs.
I started all over and questioned everything. I rebelled against all my earlier beliefs and challenged them again.
Actually it was this forum that got me starting to think again and reflect on the Bible again.
So many who have left the JWs still respect the Bible here. I thought seriously about that and began to read my Bible again.
It was truly a turning point for me.
