  i just saw an awesome video on you tube!

  a funny spoof of the typical door to door experience with jws from the householder's perspective.

  this bold and funny gal (exjw) created an educational video exposing some of the weird ideas the witnesses promote.

  feelings of guilt

  as some of you are aware i am in the early stages of doubting the wts as the only channel of truth.however i am assailed by feelings of guilt.am i being seduced by the words of disgruntled witnesses or ex-witnesses or am i truly doubting !

  !maybe some of you felt this way in the early stages of your "defection" from the wts.sometimes i feel as though i am rejecting god and his organization but other times i feel so strongly that the wts has misled me and is acting to control my "loyalty" by vieled threats of destruction at armageddon.you see prior to becoming a jw i had no religious affiliations.i knew nothing about the bible or god.so for 20 yrs i have only known watchtower teachings and un-learning 20yrs of this is making me so indesicive.am i doing the right thing or not ?

  my only solace is prayer.i have prayed to god to show me in some way what the truth really is.i must admit that these prayers have been the most heartfelt i have ever said.have others felt this way and if so how did they deal with it ?i would truly appreciate some feedback.

  I was like you, very torn and uncertain. I went to the elders myself and confessed a sin and they disfellowshipped me.
  
  I was in shock at the repercussions of the shunning and how it affected my family life.
  
  It was too much discipline for me, and instead of shaming me, I felt they should be ashamed of the unchristian unloving tactics they used to publicly embarrass me and control me.
  
  I saw a different side of the Society and Jehovah after that. They are nice to you if you are obedient and controllable and sinless, but if not, they are mean and nasty and unforgiving.
  
  I had spent 35 years in that org developing a relationship with God and they told me I had severed my relationship with God and that he no longer heard my prayers!
  
  I spent the next three years languishing in sorrow and misery, believing the Watchtower lies about an unforgiving God who is coming to destroy the world and me and everyone not a 100 hour a month JW.
  
  It was not until I found this website that I began to heal slowly from the sad cult experience and receive excellent therapeutic help and advice.
  
  You have been under a spell, the spell the Watchtower weaves over the minds of sweet, humble people.
  With thousands of little words, inuendos, hints, and promises they have saturated your thoughts and taken over your mind. And without help you will be weak to fight and regain back your mind and life.
  
  Read the books suggested. Keep reading here and posting. Think daily about the reality around you and what you see in nature and use and trust your own God given beautiful human heart to come to the proper conclusions about what is true.

  my lady insists i'm nice and smooth but gets all hot and bothered over a bristly ewan mcgregor!

  i mean, what's a guy to do?.

  I love both stubble and clean shaven!
  
  My man looks like Ewan McGregor. He is Scottish and man oh man those looks get my blood to boil
  CELTIC RED HOT!!!!
  
  I like it when he mixes it up....lets his beard grow and then for a romantic treat he'll shave without telling me before hand and WHAT A SURPRISE AND TREAT! A clean shaven handsome man!
  
  So I vote for both!
  
  
  He also wears a long blonde pony tail and sport kilt hat that I find so attractive!
  
  
  (When I was a dub I always wished my husband would grow some stubble or a beard, but NOOOOOOOOO he was an elder and our lives became very boring and non sexual, putting the damn sale of rags first place in our lives. (Im not bitter am I?)

  Went to one day assembly at the weekend.....

  i was at the one day assembly at the weekend - we are the clay, jehovah is the potter.. this was the first assembly i have been at as a "thinking" person.. one of the talks mentioned how the world can "prime" our minds.

  he said - people just follow what they hear, do not question it, believe anything.. and i thought - hmm, i am surrounded by people like that!!.

  a young sister i know was up for baptism - when she stood up to say yes to the couple of questions i just wanted to shout "dont do it".

  Every time someone makes the supreme sacrifice to attend one of these I am so grateful!
  The reported discourses put me right back in the small seats feeling depressed, miserable and bored to tears. I was the supreme candidate to succeed in the borg----do-gooder, people pleaser, humble, unworthy,
  ex-catholic, poor and obedient. But even I began to rebel when it became apparent after 35 long boring years that all the talks were rehashed repetitions of old talks. It was all a bizarre episode out of Bill Murray's "Ground Hog Day".

  My mom just called

  my biological family has been shunning me ever since i daed back in 1998.. my mom opened by saying that she's been thinking about me lately and then we chatted a bit to catch up on news.

  i told her about my toilet training my two cats, my recent nose surgery, my running and how things are going well at work.

  she told me about how my dad had a medical issue come up in july and how it was treated.. normally my biological family will only contact me when someone dies.

  That was a very well written letter. No doubt with your combined talents you could do even more to help others out of the mire.
  
  Why promise to be good little apostates and keep quiet? That is exactly what they want! They cannot hurt your further, so why not be more vocal and do a website or blog or youtube video or your experience like so many others are doing?
  
  It might be good therapy!

  I'm So Happy!! A NEVER Give Up Hope Story

  like most everyone here, i had a painful yet liberating exiting of the org.. one of the most difficult parts was saying goodbye to a dear friend.

  he couldn't believe that i no longer was a "believer", and during our last conversation 3 years ago, he ran out in tears extremely upset.

  i told him that i would always love him and thought there was a good chance that that was the last time i'd ever talk to him.. however last week......he called me!!!!.

  How has your 2007 been? A summary...

  my year so farwonder if anyone else had as sucky of a 2007 as i did?

  aka for all of you worldly non witness folk who want to know how it is being with an ex jwhere you go, a little sample, unfiltered.. .

  january just got done taking the gf to see the familyfeeling good because the experience made us closer, finally sharing a piece of what i came from.

  My year started out badly but is ending very nicely!
  
  In May I was notified by my landlord that he was divorcing and selling the property.
  
  By June my husband and I were embroiled in their fighting and had to go to court to testify what we heard.
  
  Landlord removes the front door off our rental.
  
  A week later he puts it back on by court order.
  
  Landlord returns and removes toilets and sinks.
  
  Landlady begs us to stay and moves us into her upstairs master suite where we have been for six months.
  
  
  (There were times during this past six months I wondered if these turn of events werent part of falling into Satan's hands like the JWs said I did)
  
  But October 1st we found a brand new 3 bedroom home of our own to move to! Our Sweet landlady is now engaged to a wonderful new man! And mean old landlord is scheduled for jail time!
  
  And I am going back to school!
  
  So I cant say I have been in Satan's hands, but maybe attacked by evil forces. But my goodness and sweetness pervailed and all is hunky dory and Im looking forward to the winter holidays with my new non JW family!
