I was watching this on the news the other morning. Her twin died and what remained of her twin became part of her. Her poor parents, I can't imagine.
Hopefully she'll survive through the extensive surgeries. Very sad.

I'm sure it's an assortment of many of the reasons already listed. I do believe with some though it's because they are stubborn and refuse to admit they have wasted years, money and their family on something that wasn't real. I'm pretty sure that's the case with my daddy, he's an engineer, very smart- educated and brilliant in so many ways yet he's still a witness, served many years as an elder. Some people I believe wouldn't know what do do without the whole thing. They wouldn't know how to pick up what they have left of their lives and go on, it's much easier to just pretend. -

Most of the people I know (that are homosexual) have said they felt an attraction sexually to the same sex since they were very young; and that's just the way it was. Yet I know several people that insist that "something had to have happened to them" to make them "that way". That always bothers me, why are people so unacepting to the point of not being able to see past what they were taught and all the circular logic that entails. What I don't understand is the people who believe in God yet fail to think about the concept that if in fact these people were born attracted to their same sex, then why is it considered a sin to be gay? It's what comes natural to them, to feel that way and what seems unnatural is to be forced to hide who they really are. And how would the people who are so judgemental about homosexuals feel if it were them born that way? They would feel differently I suppose and all of a sudden they would be able to see past their little box they live inside of.
My older sister (a witness) was in a relationship awhile back with a woman. My mom said she would rather her be dead then be gay. I cannot for the life of me comprehend how a parent could be like that towards their own child. -

Tool's albums are a journey through the process of abuse recovery and emergence into life afterwards. That's why Opiate is so raw, not just a coincidence there is a twisted version of a preacher on the cover. Anema is the one that depicts the purging of the hate and anger that comes from abuse, as well as the development of the inner person. The rest go beyond anger to healing.
I couldn't have said it better myself. A lot of people were hating the last album at first; it's one you have to really listen to over and over, all their albums are a journey through the pain into survival. Musical genius IMHO. -
