The main thing that has always stood out to me about this photo is that not one of them appears overweight.

Any suggestions on handling financial abuse of a senior by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society?
by Balaamsass indoes anyone here have any suggestions on handling financial abuse of a senior by the watchtower bible and tract society?
mom gave a lot of money to the watchtower bible and tract society over her lifetime- (6 figures).
after she ran low on funds she made a 5 figure "conditional loan" to wtb&ts.

JW Careers - Meter Reading??
by rrb2016 ini remember in the 70's and 80's the big jw career was pin striping...in addition to the regular careers like janitorial and window washing.
now i hear the big career is meter reading in the pacific northwest.
what are some of the other jw careers that are hot in the 2012 and the "end is closer than ever?

Re 'pinstriping' thanks that's what I thought it was [go faster stripes] but never heard of it in relation to a 'career' for Witnesses, or anyone else for that matter.

Homeopathy - Interesting Case in Australia
by cantleave inas i expect many of you can guess, i am very sceptical about unproven medical techniques, and find some of the claims made by homeopathic medicine quite ludicrous.
when i was a witness i saw lots of faith in "alternative" medicine, so long as it didn't border on anything to do with demunz, it was probably being promoted by some crank pot sister.
i would be interested in what opinions you guys and gals have.. anyway here's the article.. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/breaking-news-old/watchdog-blast-homeopathy-site-over-whooping-cough/story-fn3dxity-1226346266370.

Homeopathy was big with some Witness families in my locale. They swore blind this certain 'specialist' by the name of de Vries, I think, could diagnose a whole host of ailments just by looking into your eyes. (Not round the eyes but in the eyes.)
Why the medical profession hadn't taken up this man as one of their own I'll never know.

The Tower of Babel - Languages: Isn't this story unhinged?
by james_woods inbesides the obvious fact that it is historically ridiculous - can anybody make any sense out of this story?.
god was somehow afraid that man was developing too much technology?
just because they were building a tower?.

And people wonder why I think people who believe the Bible are slightly unhinged.

Introduction Bio
by JakeM2012 inhi everyone, i would like to introduce myself and tell my story.
from the standpoint of being one of jehovahs witnesses, my whole family is deeply involved as i was the 5th generation of witness and any children that my brothers or sister have will be the sixth generation.
as some of my brothers and sisters are grandparents, i guess that makes their grandchildren a potential 7th generation.

Thank you very much for posting that.
As regards
'My question still remains unanswered, "how could we all (my family) have been so stupid" '
I don't know the answer, but you are certainly not the only one.

It is approximately 7,000 miles from Ararat to South America. (via a large wet blue section now known as the Atlantic, ridged or not ridged).
If the two sloths on the Ark (two toed or three toed variety I'm not sure which ones Noah took) travelled a foot a minute for 8 hours a day it would have taken them about 210 years to reach their destination. Average life span is about 20 years.
Sloth arrival was therefore about 2160 BC.
