JW Net and Politics
by snare&racket inthis site was and remains instrumental in assisting people that want to leave the jw's.. there has been political discussion here for some time now, a good couple of years and it makes me feel a little uneasy.
i just opened up the site for the first time in some weeks, of the 10 posts being discussed, 4 were by the same poster, about politics, promoting their right wing beliefs.. this has been the trend for some time now, the same name behind a peppering of posts stirring the right v left of politics.. i remain forever grateful to the site and it's founders simon & angharad, i appreciate that simon shares some of these these political beliefs.
it would be a shame to see the site evolve from a place for jw freedom of thought and escape, to political squabbling, that the world is frankly tired of right now.. just to clarify, politics is my hobby, whilst my friends read the football scores, i'm reading polling data.

Do You Support Trump Being Impeached Again?
by minimus init looks like it can happen again and i suspect if it does happen, the senate will not convict either because they can’t convict him since it’s after his presidency or simply because they don’t have sufficient votes..

As an outsider, with no affiliation to Republican or Democrat politics, it appeared to me that President Trump had no more likelihood of being found guilty in his impeachment trials as President Clinton did in his.
Did anybody seriously expect anything different ?
By an incredible coincidence the vote went along party lines in both cases. Funny that.

Friend Is Worried About My “Mental Health”...lol
by minimus inone of my tennis friends who happens also to be a nurse, told me today that he is concerned about my mental health because i support donald trump.
i believe he got shafted but i also recognize that very little will probably change regarding his being re-elected.
this man voted for the “green” candidate and said he personally agrees with most of trump’s views but he thinks he’s morally corrupt.

Polls Vs. Crowds
by minimus inwhen i see polls suggesting trump has a 95% chance to lose the presidency, according to drudge report, which is now totally liberal, and i see the huge crowds of trump supporters as opposed to the 20 people showing up for biden rallies, i have to wonder what i should believe.

Taiwan population of 23 million has had 7 deaths from the virus.
They must have been doing something different to most Western countries to say the least.
It seems they learned their lesson from the SARS outbreak in 2003.
Regardless of who, if anyone, is at fault for the response to the 2020 Covid outbreak, I hope that next time we are better prepared.

Yes, it does seem like President Trump has timed it perfectly.
Test 'positive', have a couple of days off, then come back feeling better than ever. Tell the nation they can beat this virus, just as he has, that's just what we all want to hear. All a few weeks before the election. Hmmm.
