UBMs - why do we love JWs??

i think there's been a thread on this before, but i figured i'd ask again.. for all of the ubms out there, why is it that we love witnesses??

what is it about them that we find so attractive??

why are we putting ourselves through this mess when we know full-well that there are lots of non-jws out there who would be better for us??.

Let me preface this by saying Becka that I'm glad that you have someone that you feel good to be around, that makes you feel good. I find that we are often with people who reflect us in very true ways. Your boyfriend will figure himself out in time as you will as well. The only caution I would lend would be that if this is your choice in men that you must grow with them or all will fall to pieces.

Maybe it would be better for me to say that I tend to find myself with guys that haven't really figured out who they are, what they want and what they need.

The beauty of being with someone who has these things already figured out is that they tend to know what it is that they want and that is part of what makes a man or a woman vs a girl or a boy IMHO. The problem with being with someone who hasn't figured it out is that the growth of knowing these vital things can be stunted simply by their split focus. You are his priority and he is not his priority. Hopefully though by watching you and seeing how you grow and interact it will help him know what he needs out of his life and his interactions.

Becka I don't know you so please to not take this as a judgement in any way

I always find myself falling for a guy who needs a lot of work but that I'm crazy about anyway.

I have a serious problem with this. People don't need work. I mean we are with who we are with for who and what they are. This human need to "make people better" is troublesome. I have been in relationships where this was an underlying goal. It hurt and I am sick from it. I am what I am for good reason. The changes I make to my organism are changes that I deem necessary because of some event or occurence which makes me believe that such a change is required. Sometimes that comes in the form of people bringing things to my attention. Usually though it is some inward work that I have done that brings about such changes. To want to conform someone to your will or your ideals of what would be "better" is not the most productive way to express your love for them.

i will echo the previous. a truly amazing piece of film work. but paying attention is completely necessary. you'll lose a lot if you don't pay attention to all of the players in the story

If the society says jump...................you say

well the c.o was visiting the congregation a few weeks ago and he made an interesting comment.. he said that years ago when the society said "jump" the brothers would respond "how high?.

now when the society says "jump" the brothers ask "why"?.

this tells me that the walls of this spiritual paradise are cracking and that many are not willing to put up with all the crap that jw's of the past did.. what do you think?

yeah see, i heard this crap different. i had this co who said once that when the society asks us to jump we don't even ask how high, we jump as high as possible

wanna hear the worst part? i completely and totally bought into it.

how do you feel about tv shows & movies at present?.

do you think it is appropriate for children to be viewing comedies with cursing and sexual encounters?.

don't you think movies have more cursing even though they are rated "g"?.

losing jehovah was like losing a girlfriend that you loved.

you barely had time to flinch when you found out that she had been sleeping with all your friends and stealing your records to pawn off.

that you had just been another sucker on the vine.. when jehovah dumps you, you start looking at yourself longer and harder, and wondering what it was about him that you found in yourself, until all you see there in the reflection is just yourself, dancing with an imaginary hand and waistline.. when jehovah was gone, and the war was over, i realized that all the things that had made me "good", and "moral", and "hate what was bad", didn't mean anything to me anymore.
