GOLDEN AGE (AWAKE!) crackpot "Truth" from the faithful and discreet slave
by Terry inwe do well to bear in mind that among the drugs, serums, vaccines, surgical operations, etc., of the medical profession, there is nothing of value save an occasional surgical proceedure.
their so-called "science" grew out of egyptian black magic and has not lost its demonological character.... we shall be in a sad plight when we place the welfare of the race in their hands.
the journal of the a. m. a. is the vilest sheet that passes the united states mail.... nothing new and useful in theraputics escapes its unqualified condemnation.

Drew,
There are a lot of those quotes here
http://www.quotes-watchtower.co.uk/vaccination.html
Here's another one
The Golden Age 1935 March 27th p.409
Serum for "Christmas"!
A CERTAIN "health" commissioner offered the suggestion a short time ago that no mother could give her child a better present for "Christmas" than diphtheria immunization, meaning an injection of filthy and poisonous serum.
It is said that diphtheria is particularly deadly of late, and that seems likely. Parents cannot give their children the foods needed to build sturdy bodies that can resist the disease. But while parents are not able to get proper foods, they can get the serum injections for their children free.
The Devil is bent on destroying the human family, denying them the necessary comforts of life, and urging them to give their children "Christmas" presents of germ-laden pus. What a travesty of civilization!

by BR25 insorry if i that is the wrong spelling.
i just want to say that i used to be judgemental of athiests, but as a jw backer everyone on here finds nothing but wrong doing with the orginizations.

However BR25, I have a few thoughts and questions for you. I WAS a JW too. I was also an elder and very loyal, baptized Witness for 15 years. I left just one year ago.
You may have left the watchtower but, judging by your ad hominem attacks on
various posters here who dare to disagree with your beliefs, you haven't left the
jw attitude behind. You call yourself a follower of Christ. I'm sure he would have responded to other
posters in the vitriolic way you have done on this and other threads, not. Are you
absolutely sure you're not still a jw? The judgemental attitude you display very much
reminds me of some of the elders I used to know in my own jw days. Still, I guess
being an elder yourself has left it's mark, and you may get over it in time.I am an atheist myself, though I am prepared to admit I may be wrong and god may
exist. I await any conclusive evidence to prove that he does exist, however, and your
arguments don't provide any IMHO. In fact, the way you present your point of view,
intermixed as it is with the name-calling of other posters, is more likely to drive people
away from a belief in god than to persuade anyone to believe in him.dedpoet

New Light Coming?
by dontomas inhi - i have jw friends (really!
) and have gone to kh for some talks and study every couple of weeks.
things like the new watchtower policy, selling buildings (i am from nyc and know the heights well - that will make a boatload of money), the sex abuse settlements, drop in membership and donations, and some of the changes i have seen in the magazine (the annointed qfr, for example).

I challenge anyone here to tell me exactly why the Society "needs" to change anything
I doubt there will be any takers metatron. I suppose time runs out on
some things, and they have to keep the flock at least slightly interested. Why not just repeat the same nonsense over and over indefinitely? What difference do facts make?
They sort of do. Any change seems to make it even more nonsensical
As long as Witlesses go along with idiocy, why come up with any "new truth"?
When I was a jw a lot of my colleagues seemed to thrive on "new light", though
some were slightly perturbed by it. Some seem to like to see themselves as
being in a "progressive" organisation, so when the gb added new idiocy to the
idiocy they already believe, they would welcome it with genuine excitement. I
guess it adds to the feeling that they are "special", their organisation is the only
one that jehovah is communicating with at this time. -

I didn't leave the truth, I left the watchtower society.
Apart from that, helping a dear friend leave the lie herself, and marrying
her earlier this year. -

Carload of jw's shunned us today...and it was priceless!!!
by winnie inwe were in a carpark and the only space available was next to a carload of witnesses.
so we parked!
in it was 3 out of the 5 local elders, and 1 of their wives.

Hi winnie,
It's kind of funny when that happens, and a little sad that people could
be so much under the control of a cult that they can act in such a way
and consider it to be the right way to act.Linda and I passed a bunch of jws on the ministry a while ago as we were
walking our dog. They saw us, and they all know us, and collectively, and
almost in unison turned their backs on us as we passed them. I speculated
that maybe the jws have invented a new sport, synchronised shunning, based
on the synchronised swimming that you see in the Olympics and other major
sporting events sometimes. -

Why 6 Billion People Deserve to Die in Armageddon
by Leolaia injehovah is such a righteous, merciful, loving god -- slow to anger, overflowing with loving kindness and blessing.
yet it somehow bothers many of you that he will shortly execute his judgment on mankind and wipe out 99.9% of the world's population, as if that somehow is supposed to conflict with his loving qualities.
personally, i have no idea why many of you feel this way.

Hi again dontomas,
It looks like you are beginning to see through it all before it's too late!
One thing you might ask your study conductor, and you can research it
in advance from the Quotes site, is about 1975. When I joined the org in
the early 90's, all I knew about jws was their no-blood policy, that they
knocked on doors, and I remembered their campaign during the late 60's
and early 70's regarding the world ending in 1975. I asked about that, and
was told that they in fact hadn't prophesied that armageddon was coming
in 1975, but that a few jws had run ahead of the society and said that it was
coming. Reading through Quotes and other sites I've looked at, it's clear that
they preached the 1975 idea relentlessly during the 8 or 9 years leading up
to it.Throughout their existence, they have made similar prophecies, such as
"millions now living will never die", which was written in 1920, with the idea
that armageddon was coming in 1925, which it obviously didn't. The average
jw isn't aware of the watchtower's true history, which is presumably why your
study conductor told you that the things you asked about don't matter. As for
the generation change, which occurred during my time in the org. I've heard
jws declare that they have always taught the current thought, meaningless
as it is, when I know from experience they clearly have not. The watchtower
seems to somehow be able to induce a kind of collective amnesia among it's
followers, which enables them to discard things they've taught for years, or
even decades, which is the case with the gathering of the anointed - they
taught that that was completed apart from replacements in 1935 until the
May qfr. Now it is still taking place - a convenient excuse for the fact that
the number of partakers at the memorial never falls by much, and often
increases. If you carry on with your study, I have a feeling that the conductor is in
for a very interesting session or two. Keep us posted on how it goes.Trev
