My daughter is going to a school dance on Friday. She is extremely excited because a boy she likes asked her to go to the dance. She is in 8th grade. Her 11 year old brother will be at the dance also. This isn't the first dance she is going to and she is just meeting the boy at the dance. So why do I feel like she is growing up too soon?
(((Troucul))), we can't keep her locked up.

What's my role here????
by bythesea inmy daughter (29)is expecting our first grandchild first of nov (not that i trust dates!
) and i plan on being there for the birth.
my dilemna is that i am trained as a doula(labor coach), and have assisted some of her friends in their birthings, but now that its my daughter's turn i'm worried about how to handle it!

I agree with Old Soul. Just be Mom this time. Your training will no doubt come into play, but don't make that the first hat you wear. IMO

So, are you, by nature, and introvert or extrovert?
by onacruse inmulan's thread, and simon's post thereto, got me to thinking about this, especially in terms of what i might be today, minus the influence of the wts.. by nature, i was always an introvert.
early on (age 10 or so), i immersed myself in mathematics, physics, chemistry...the "pure" sciences, devoid of "worldly" meaning...just the plain and simple facts, thank you ma'am.
i'd stay in my room and study stuff until my mom had to literally grab me by the ear and say "craig, go outside and blow off the stink!.

I am definately an extrovert. I work in retail/customer service and absolutely love the interaction with people. Even when I was a dub I was always outgoing (not a submissive person at all - bad jw). I've know this about myself for as long as I can remember.

I actually like where we live. We moved here about 5 years ago. When we retire, I want to go to Arizona. Oh I can't wait for 120 degree weather. I love the heat.

Are you living your life fully knowing that you will one day die?
by JH inas jw's it was out of the question to die.
the end was too close for that to happen, unless you had a bad accident or sickness.
most of us believed that we wouldn't die, and on top of that we were about to become young again.. since we will all die, do you make it a priority in your life right now to live it fully, and to love fully the ones you care for because every day you skip, its lost and won't come back..
