given that so many practises associated with christmas are blatantly christian in origin, is christmas truly for pagans?.
i know that often there are few christian connotations attributed to it nowadays, in such a secularised society, but history is on record in showing that the whole baby jesus thing is definitely a christian element.
would any true pagan today want to drink such a mixed cup?.

if i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?
have i ever misled you?
i'll answer that--no!
Greetings Gumby,
*wonders if many aren't still window washer minded*
Would you please expound on the window washer analogy?
Thanks so much.

I think Barbara should be applauded for her courage and her strength. She has proven her worth and her integrity many times over.
If some feel she gravely erred on the side of optimism then friends go out and find your own piece of revelation about the Org. and publish it! Better to err as she did than to have never publicly and forcefully presented ourselves in the forefront. It's easy to criticize when we mostly do our bit in our own little world where no one sees our blunders but us.
Barbara put herself out there! Let it go already!

(baylor university, waco, tx) an essay entitled, "jehovah's witnesses, blood transfusions, and the tort of misrepresentation," found in the autumn issue of baylor universitys prestigious journal of church and state, published december 13, 2005, exposes the vulnerability of jehovahs witnesses religious organization to massive claims for compensation because of the religions misrepresentation of the medical risks of blood transfusions.
this milestone essay critically examines one of the religions main publications for teaching their children and new recruits about their blood beliefs, how can blood save your life?
the peer-reviewed essay details many misrepresentations of medical facts, which the religion partly relies on to support its blood prohibition, thus denying its members from making fully informed medical decisions.
Barbara,
Thanks for all your efforts to bring this here. I hope this works for the good of all concerned but especially for the rank and file JW who is still chained to his/her belief that the GB is God's gift to mankind. Children are dying. Get the word out friends!
Peace to you,

the federal judge's new ruling that the pledge of allegiance is unconstituional because it includes the words "under god" will ultimately be reviewed by the u.s. supreme court.
(previously the court did not consider the merits of the argument due to a technicality.).
there are lots of arguments for and against the issue which may be raised but one of the most forceful will be that voluntary recitation of the pledge does not consitute "establishment of a religion" in violation of the constitution because it is voluntary and students may not be compelled to salute the flag or recite the pledge of allegiance.
I agree.
The flag salute is voluntary. Those who do not wish to say, "under God" could either skip those two words or just stand as the JWs do and not recite the pledge at all. Atheists who support this venture have neither a religious law which bars them from saluting nor a government law which compels them to salute. This whole thing is an exercise in: "I want what I want just because I want it!" thing.

I understand. No problem.

a flurry of articles attacking jehovahs witnesses has been published in regional newspapers across russia over the past week, raising the question of ...
Finally-Free,
I don't believe the majority of JWs would ever do such a thing if ordered, but I know of a few who would. I remember one MS who said several times the society should send out "hit teams to whack apostates".
Whacko's are found everywhere. Every religion, every sect, every country has them.

if ray franz had been lying in anything he said in both of his books, c of c and in search of christian freedom, surely the wtbts would have sued him.
why did they take no legal action against him?.
could it be that this legalistic corportion realised he had lied about nothing?
I don't think you can sue religious opinion.

JWs who have no control over policy are being persecuted in Eastern Europe. I see nothing to gloat about in the above news release.

this post is deeply serious and is my heartfelt view concerning the christian spirit.
in 1976, after assuring the fbi that i was not a communist, and cooperating with endless requests for information, i was given a classified security clearance.
Hi Jim,
Thanks for the reply.
Your stand is one which, in my opinion, is balanced and clear cut.
Hope all is well with you and yours,
