well, in nearly forty years of being a dub, i've read some bs but some of it really takes the biscuit.. take for example the watchtower of november 15th 2006!.

this was a said by my jw relative to my never-been-jw husband this weekend, during a conversation about the prevalence of swearing.. "my friend maria's husband [was unbelieving mate, now a witness] always swore like a sailor.
he said he could see jehovah's witnesses had the truth because they didn't use bad language.".
for all the reasons for believing jw's have the truth, this was a new one to me..

hello all.. just wanted to pass along an experience that i had about a month or so ago.
i was invited to a jw wedding of a friend of mine.. also invited was a 'marked' brother who is a very close friend of the bride.
he was recently marked after the invitations were sent out, so he came along with his 'worldly girlfriend'.. anyways, long story short, about 10 upstanding jw's decided to make a stink just before the bride and groom were to enter the reception hall to do their first dance.

My friend came by afterwards and told me later on in the evening because he knew it would get me angry....which I did.
All in all, it was a pretty sad situation. The couple is on their honeymoon right now, but I am sure they will have to answer as to why this person was at the wedding.

either way its really stupid. I tried discussing it with some of my JW friends, but the subject got kiboshed very quickly. No negative talk about the mother organization and its ways.

I was invited to a JW wedding of a friend of mine.
Also invited was a 'marked' brother who is a very close friend of the bride. He was recently marked after the invitations were sent out, so he came along with his 'worldly girlfriend'.
Anyways, long story short, about 10 upstanding JW's decided to make a stink just before the bride and groom were to enter the reception hall to do their first dance. (oooh, those classy JW's) They got in their face and asked why this brother was there. Groom explained that his marking occurred after he was invited, and he was not going to send him home. The JW mouths just dropped. Sad to say, even one of the bridal party participants was in on this charade and ended up leaving after dinner. So these zealous JW's left the wedding, thereby protecting their beloved relationship with jehovah.
Another fun-filled evening of JW love at its best.

Im not sure what I want out of this. My wife lost one of her parents in her youth, so she clings dearly to the belief of seeing them again.
I know that bottling up all this hate, is taking its toll on my health. It sucks, because I used to be such a fun, happy person.
I was raised in this religion, and its all I have known. All my friends and most of my family is still in. I was married into it as well. So its been a difficult period for me. I just want to move on and at least try to find a way to heal.

Its been a very long time since I posted, but I think Im pretty close to breaking down. Ive been fading for awhile now, and am still married to a Dub. She is trying to be as supportive as she can be, but I cant stand that she is still one. I despise this organization, and all that it stands for, and I am trying to deal with that (on my 3rd therapist). I was DF'd some time ago, and the hypocrisy of those I called friends and the organization in general just makes me sick.
I respect my wife enough, not to tell her my real feelings towards the JW's. Im not happy with this situation. She brings home the literature and she still talks about it alot..........and Im trying to figure out what I should do. Do I love her enough to stay with her even though she is part of something I hate so much?? My goals have changed now. I dont want anything to do with this religion. How do I make things work??

so i've been wondering about it recently.
i was baptized when i was 11 years old and have been a witness for about 8 years now.
since i was 11 (yes, since 11) i've been reading the watchtower, doing the mics and all that stuff.
Look at Jesus. He was witnessing in the temple at 13, chilling with Pharisees and hell....he was God's Son.
Why did he wait till his 30's to get baptized??
Thats always puzzled me.
JW's happily baptize children, at the mature ages of 9, 10, 11........because they are 'spiritually mature'........yeahhhhh.....right!!!
IF they are baptized, you can control them, and if they do something bad, they can have their family/friends held at ransom.
ITs the JW way.............Rules and control...........someone pass me the Kool-Aid!!
