For me, success is being able to raise my kids to be honest, kind, morally responsible people who are at peace with themselves and who love me as much as I love them. I want to create a loving family. I never had that as a child. So far, so good! GGG |

Define Success.
by LouBelle inmany people define success in many ways.
some feel that being at the top of their 'game' is success.
some feel that having a load of money in the bank is success.. what is success for you?

People who never cry....
by JH in.
does this mean that they have less feelings, or that they were taught not to show their feelings, or they don't have any?

Then, about two years later, I was cleaning underneath my bed and found a letter she wrote to me. That's when the waterworks finally turned on and I balled uncontrollably for the rest of the day. She said how much she loved me in the letter, and I was beating myself in the head for not telling her the same and being more appreciative. I think some people simply put the death of their loved ones in a locked section of their minds, refusing to look at it directly.
I totally agree with this..... I lost someone very close to me some years ago. I was in a place in my life where I could not afford to lose it or get upset, so I only cried once, and that was just before she died.I lost another very close person 4 years later.... And still, the tears didn't flow. I'm normally a very emotional person!
Years later, my favorite cat died. I was so upset over that cat that I couldn't stop crying for weeks and weeks. I was depressed for months. I think now that all the emotion that I couldn't show for my 2 loved ones (for a variety of complicated reasons) ALL that pent-up emotion came out when the cat died. It's so strange how our minds work. And it reinforced to me how important it is never to judge people.

Share a Story...
by misspeaches ini really enjoy reading the stories/experiences you guys all post on here from your jdub days..... the funny, ridiculous, ironic ones make me laugh but reinforce in my mind that i've done the right thing by leaving that organisation.. the hurtful, sad, mean ones make me hurt as well but again - reinforce in my mind that i've done the right thing by leaving that organisation.. the scandals that go on - well same again - they reinforce in my mind that i've done the right thing by leaving that organisation.. i do appreciate the time you all take in writing down your stories and will never tire of reading them.
so if you have a story you haven't relayed here before because it is didn't seem relevant to a thread i would love to read it!.
cheers - miss peaches

How many people have you "unwitnessed" since you've been out?
by mkr32208 ini was thinking about this the other day.
in 25 (ish) years of being a witness... well i guess i became a publisher at like 12 or 13 so actually only 13 (ish) years of service... (i could be a doctor in less time... ugggg) i went out in service lets say an average of ten hours a month... so were talking 120 hrs a year lets call it 1500 total hours.
in that time i brought no one into the truth!

I firmly believe that people should make up their own minds regarding such things
Isn't that the point, though?? The JWs have no idea what anyone else in the world believes, really. You're taught to never listen to the 'false teachings' of the religions of 'Babylon the Great.'......
Personally, I was shocked when I read about the claims the WT made with regard to 1914 and other dates in the 1800s. I am fully convinced that there is no way they can be what they claim, which is God's chosen people.... I agree that everyone has to make their own decision..... But I also think that in order to make a good decision, one needs all the facts. Well, at least more of the facts than the WT is willing to disclose...
So, even though I cannot disclose anything myself right now without risking being df'd, I am disclosing everything I can think of to my kids. Hopefully, at least they can make an informed decision when that time comes.
