WTS advocates resisting rape to the point of death?
by M.J. inover the years the wts has vacillated on its stance regarding the distinction between rape and mutual consent to fornication.. in years past, the wts has stated that "the primary distinction between rape and consent was whether a woman screamed for help.
" (awake!, 4/22/73, p. 17).. the wts's latest published stance, however, states that while the act of screaming establishes innocence of the victim, screaming in itself is not the sole criteria for determining the victim's innocence before god.
if one is incapable of screaming, it does not matter, since jehovah can read a person's motives:.

When I was very young, someone I knew was DF'd because she was raped and became pregnant. She went to a man's house thinking there was going to be a party, but was decieved. Because she 'put herself into that situation', she was disfellowshipped.
When I was young, I was at the summer convention and overheard a conversation between two women. They were talking about a young woman they knew who had been raped and had become pregnant. Instead of having any compassion for the ordeal this woman had been through, they proceeded to go on and on about how this woman was out at 2 am, and with such behavior, what could she expect?
They also discussed whether or not she had screamed, how much and how loud, etc. I was not very old, but I was shocked at the callous attitude of these women. Didn't realize then, but the attitude comes from the top.

I don't think there is a change in the cards that are handed out in the USA. Has anyone seen or heard otherwise? The new cards are in the UK, and the change is taking place there. For now, anyway....

she raised her hand to answer a question, but only had one finger in the air.

Brother Longwinded was saying the closing prayer, going on..... and on..... and on...... and on........ My 2 year old son had had more than enough meeting already, and finally he lets out this huge sigh in the middle of the prayer and yells, "AMEN!"
Muffled laughter erupted throughout the hall....

by reexaminer ingreetings.. i have started a project that i hope will stay online for times indefinate, even to times indefinate.
you can find it at www.reexamine.org .. i started working on it in october and it is still a work in progress, however because of the shut down of the website located at http://quotes.watchtower.ca i felt that i should release the site in "as-is" condition, instead of waiting until it was completely finished.. currently, there isn't a lot of content in the 'wiki' section of the website.
hopefully in the next few days and weeks that will change, however there are still programming issues that i have to work out before that can happen.
