Jehovah is the Source of all righteous judgment. We will see. Meanwhile, the grammar of much of it, the names of many, and the quotes of much of it is that of the OT. That much we can be quite certain of.

I'm afraid I don't follow your logic? You begin a thread claiming to offer "proof" that the NT was actually written in Hebrew, then cite two obscure articles of the internet and wikipedia. When we call you on it you fall back to a "Jehovah knows" defense?

I'm sure Jehovah does know ST, but you nor your precious GB are Jehovah. You cannot change the facts which decidedly prove the NT was NOT written in Hebrew, and that the Hebrew name for God was not included in the NT writings. Your NW translation committee added that to bolster it's teachings.

I'm a little unclear on what your agenda here is? Do you even understand what constitutes an acceptable source and how proper citation methods actually work? From your ramblings I don't think you do.

Of course JW's would like to believe the NT was written in Hebrew, that would support their addition of JEHOVAH to the text in their NW translation.

Unfortunately, Biblical scholars (despite articles from obscure areas of the internet and wikipedia; which any educated person can tell you is an uncitable source) do not support this wishful thinking. In fact there is little in the JW NWT that Biblical scholars do support.

Nice try ST, but as usual your logic is full of holes.

I love how they have to dredge up Old Testament accounts to support their authority system. They totally circumvent the fact that Jesus abolished that arrangement and made his own "covenant" with his followers.

Pathetic drivel, and yet the R&F eat it up like ice cream. Witness Rianna's comments for an example.

this is a first timer posting.

heres my story which im hoping you guys can help me with, even if its just support ( i could sure use some!).

brought up in the truth, i spent 20+ years of my life having trauma after trauma in it.

you do know you people are meant to be the very essance of wickedness don't you? at last thats what they are always saying from the platform! but having read some threads i've found mostly you are only saying what i've heard a ton of jw's saying in private

Welcome to the forum! You'll find a lot of us around here have walked the very same path you are starting down, let me tell you...you're going to love it! There is something wonderful about spiritual freedom. Keep your head up. I'm also on medication for depression. Consider this fact: the reason depression medications make you feel better is that they reset the neurotransmitters in your brain to normal levels. You're now viewing the JW's through the eyes of someone with a "normal" brain versus someone with a chemical imbalance.

What does that say to you about JW's? To me it means that you have to be abnormal to accept their views, and once you restore your brain's chemicals to a balanced state the scales fall off your eyes and you see through the twisted logic of JW's.

Anyway, nice to meet you and welcome to the board! Enjoy yourself and ask as many questions as you can. You'll find a lot of REALLY smart people around here.....many of whom are former sisters.....I know right, what a shock to the JW mindset of holding our female counterparts down, right?

to jehovah's witnesses: i commend your zeal for god, your desire for accurate knowledge and truth of the bible, your goals of drawing close to jehovah, and following and obeying christ's teachings, and your time spent studying the bible.

the beginning verses in Acts 15 show that it was a congregational discussion....not just the apostles and 'some of the older men' as the WT claims.

That's a good point. It reminds me of the actual procedure implemented in the first century for rule breakers within the congregation. The "judicial committee they faced was at the city gates, in the open, in front of everyone. They could call their own witnesses and actually speak in defense of themselves. If they were actually found guilty then other Christians would still associate with them, they just wouldn't eat with them as the scriptures instructed them.

In other words any "punishment" was not used as a means of control over some subservient individual, rather it was a mere statement of disagreement among Christians who were all on the same level......brothers in Christ. This is far different from the abusive and controlling practices of today's JWs.
