Everything About Being An Elder is Weird (my misc rambling memories of being an elder)
by AllTimeJeff infor any brother who is a jehovah's witness, the goal is put before them to reach out for the privilege of being an elder.
i can only speak for myself, but being born into the religion, i wanted to be an elder since i was 5. i would have much rather wanted to be a doctor or engineer, but those are the breaks..... i'll skip the part about what it takes to reach out, all the crap you have to put up with as a ministerial servant to get appointed, and go straight to the reality.. i know many elders who sincerely just wanted to be shepherds.
i did want the spotlight.

I've always wondered what kind of cigar it was? Was it a skikky little Swisher Sweet or big ole' fat Cuban?

Last night, the folks at SNL poked fun at Obama's track record, thus far. . .
SNL was spot on last night. About the only thing Obama and the Congressional Dems can claim right now is impotence. I'm still holding my breath that they'll do something that provides some relief to the masses, but then I do tend to be a bit naive.
Farkel, you're right about the Carter/Reagen economy and the cigar; though Clinton getting a hummer in the oval office never bothered me and masturbating a women with a cigar is just awesome! I mean damm...can you imagine smoking that delicious cigar later? None of that changes the fact that Obama inherited a turd sandwich from Bush.

that he's more sincere than McCain or that abomination Palin and our previous idiot president.
It's hard to create perfection when you were handed a big turd sandwich by the previous administration.

He's done some things I disagree with, but after the last guy we had I'll take him!

Glad to hear you had a good time, good for you! Time, Gatorade, and sleep; that's what always worked for me. That or more alcohol.....just kidding. Or you could just smoke weed, it doesn't give you a hangover.

What does it say about conservatives that they're happy our country lost to Rio?

2010 got scared today! OLD AGE! Born in 1972 realized I may only live to 2050!
by Witness 007 inif i live to 80 in 2050 thats in only 40 years and if i'm lucky.....not long.
believing that a "god" will whisk me away to heaven would be very comforting....but i just can't do it.
ever think about dying of old age?.

Make your peace with it and enjoy the rest of the ride. That's my motto anyway. Live in the now. Get a tattoo, climb a mountain, volunteer to help someone in need. Those are the things I've done to cope with my impending death.
It certainly makes a belief in a cloud 9 afterlife appealing.

If I were an Olympic athlete my vote would be for Rio, or anywhere but Chicago. As an American I'd hope for Chicago.
Rio has beautiful beaches and women in string bikinis. Chicago has a dirty lake and fat people munching on sausages. Easy choice.
