I say hoo-yah! Take notice thugs, if you're a punk and you want to act out Grand Theft Auto in N.O. you're gonna get shot and killed.

You do not have the right to run the city shooting and raping. Anyone who acts like that is unworthy of life, and should be lined up against a wall and shot in the head!

The freakin 82nd Airborne and 1st & 2nd Marine expeditionary forces are being deployed in N.O.'s right now. Those punks had their fun last week, I personaly hope they're stupid enough to continue with such front line soldiers policing the town. It'll be a few less bad guys for the rest of the world to worry about.

We've lost an ex-JW from Missouri in Iraq

And another thing... I watch for your posts because you live so close to my hometown. So far I like you, but... I'm a Republican and I DO value teenage life. No hard feelings... just couldn't let that one go.

I meant no offense. I was speaking mainly about the Republican leadership in Washington. We hear all the time how horrible abortion is. I agree with that. But I just think as a country we should show the same level of concern for our young soldiers. As a country we should never have sent our young people into harms way in Iraq, without concrete evidence it was needed. Once we did send them in, we should have made sure they had everything they needed to have the best chance of survival, i.e. body armor and armored Hummers.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not some anti-war liberal. Freedom isn't free, and the job of the U.S. military is to kill those who threaten our freedom. Afganistan was a perfect example of the proper use of lethel force. I personaly feel that Syria and Iran posed, and continue to pose, a greater threat to the country than Iraq ever did.

I think Bush screwed us on Iraq. He squandered the credibility that the U.S. had with a war on terror. I wish the Iraq situation had been more properly thought out and planned.

And one more thing..... I'm not totaly anti-Republican either. I think very highly of John McCain and Rudy Juliani. I guess I'm more anti Neo-Con.

I loved the way Bush put his arms around the two black girls and kept glancing at the camera to make sure it was still shooting.

I can hear the conversation....."Yes, yes we understand that you are suffering. You're just gonna have to pull yourselves up by your bootstraps. There's not much we can do to help you, what with the war on terra and all. Unless you'd like to enlist..........?"

Why Violence in New Orleans?

it will be a while before everything shakes out about why things went to hell in a handbasket in new orleans but here's one opinion from an article on the net.. ------------------------------------------------------------.

it has taken four long days for state and federal officials to figure out how to deal with the disaster in new orleans.

the man-made disaster is the welfare state.

I think the governments response reveals the heart of the Republican mindset. Namely that people should fend for themselves. It took the President a week to respond because he assumed the state was already doing it. Had Bill Clinton been in office, I have no doubt that the U.S. military and FEMA would have been in the city on Monday morning. Fox News reported yesterday that under Clinton, FEMA was practicaly a cabinet level department. That they had plenty of money and conducted drills on such disastor relief. However Bush has since gutted FEMA and rolled it into the new department of Homeland Security.

Basicly the Federal government has failed us, and the Republican ideology has failed us. Hats off to the U.S. military however. Once their political leaders gave them the order they swooped in. It was truly amayzing to watch the helicopter "air bridge" at the N.O. convention center.

If there are any heroes in this mess, they are Gen. Honore and ALL the branches of the U.S. military.

Given the same circumstances I'm sure many of us would do what we had to in order to survive and if that meant taking food and water, a blanket or some shoes from a store then we'd do it. I guess in the long run if we felt so righteous that stealing for survival was something we just couldn't bring ourselves to do and we died for that belief, then too we shouldn't be judged for what other peoplemight see as stupidity.

I wouldn't call that looting or stealing. I'd call it survival. Yesterday the news showed a man who had filled a shopping cart full of baby supplies from stores. He took all he could to the N.O. convention center to hand out. I say God bless him!

Stealing plasma T.V.'s is one thing, trying to find the necessities of life in a crisis situation is survival.

What Would YOU Have Done Differently For Hurricane Relief?

The first responsibilty lies with the city of New Orleans. They didn't have a proper disastor plan in place. This entire situation is there fault, period. Having said that, the State and Federal government should have called up the National Guard on Monday morning. By 2 p.m. Monday afternoon Guard trucks should have been rolling. The news today said that the hospital ship "Hope" has departed Baltimore harbor en-route to New Orleans. It will be there next Thursday. Why didn't it leave on Monday? It could have been resupplied by helicopter along its journey. By the time it reaches New Orleans next week, it will be too late.

The ball was dropped here by EVERY government agency from the local level, right up to the Federal level. I would have thought we would have learned from 9-11, but apparently we haven't. That's not a good sign for the rest of the country.

We've lost quite a few soldiers here in Missouri, as has the rest of the country. It's very saddening to think of the waste of life. For such compassionate, baby loving people; the Republicans don't seem to care much about our teenage citizens.

Not driving. Probably writing a 5 page paper for English class....yuck!
