To all you bad spellers on JWD,,,
by stevenyc ini've seen some recent attacks of some posters regarding spelling, and as a dyslexic myself, i thought i'd give some assistance.. if you are using internet explorer then go to this link: http://toolbar.google.com/?promo=gdl-tb-en .. it is from google and places an browser spell checker in your task bar.
after you have completed your post, click on check, and it will show you your spelling errors, with suggested words.
and its free.. steve

WALKING IN THE PATH OF INCREASING LIGHT - WT STUDY
by Mary infor those of you not "keeping up with the organization"botchtower deals soley with all the bullshit instances of "increased light" on this joke of a religion god's organization.
it asks many drone-like thought-provoking questions as i've listed below.
incredible that these guys claim to be the sole ownership of what is absolute "truth", yet change doctrines like i change lipsticks.

"...Having the right attitude is the key. Refusing to accept a refinement is to be left behind as the organization moves ahead. If I find myself in a situation where changes seem hard to accept, I reflect on Peter's words to Jesus: 'Lord whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life.' Then I ask myself, "where shall I go away to---out there into the darkness of the world?' This helps me hold firmly to God's organization."
That is probably the most effective control the WTS exercises over it's clones, and I hate it. Sorry for the change, if you don't like it your only option is to accept it anyway, or be cast out and cut off.
Those poor, enslaved clones.

Generation Change
by slugga ini left the org slightly before the change in the "generation that was alive in 1914" thing was announced and wondered, what were peoples in the congregations reactions after this was announced and did it you notice people falling away because of it?
has it had a damaging effect?

The Society was very slick when they pulled this off. They spun it in such a way as to prove they actually had divine inspiration. There was almost an air of excitement amongst the congregations around us; the friends where so proud to be part of an organization receiving "new light."
Looking back it was pathetic. The Society ripped the rug out from under our entire belief system, and people smiled and took it.

WHAT IS QUINTESSENTIALLY ENGLISH?
by Dansk inthis is actually something that fascinates me and i'd like your own opinions on the subject.
i list here things i feel are quintessentially english (with apologies to the scots, welsh and irish as they have their own uniqueness).. first of all, it's got to be a cup of tea (yes, i know it wasn't originally made here, but it has become an integral part of 'englishness').. cup of tea.
cricket.

When we visited England we loved:
Fish and Chips in York.
Strongbow Cider on tap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The accent (after 10 days I even started to imitate it like a foppish American.)
Ancient castle ruins around every corner.
Fuzzy sheep.
Burger King along the M1.
English Breakfast.
Pub meals.
Things we HATED:
The price of Petrol.
Black pudding. Come on that's just disgusting.
Driving on the left side of the road.
Indian food.

How Many Of You?
by justsomedude inhow many of you, when you were an active and zealous jw (assuming you were), were motivated by the paradise idea?
i was basically born in, so i wasn't drawn to the religion, it just was.. the whole idea of the paradise never really exicted me though.
i followed the religion and did what i did because i just believed it was the right thing to do and not so i could obtain the carrot on the end of the string.. how many of you felt the same way?

The only time I dwelt on the New System teaching was at assemblies and conventions. The rest of my time was spent slaving under the Watchtower yoke.

Unless I trust you sorry you will not be posting on the site. And unless those ones who have put zero information on their personal pages startes to then I will delete them before long. That is why we have new members but we are not growing as fast as you would think....we should have close to 200 and because I have deleted a bunch that is why net numbers stay the same. And I have and will continue to watch our site like a hawk for any persons who might lean towards thinking that would tear our strong faith down in any way. However if there is a misunderstood post by a member well that means the two folks that have that misunderstanding should work it out with love and christian behaviour. I did not fight for my life this last week I might add,

My Crazy Mother learns a lesson
by RichieRich inyesterday (monday) i was off school and work, and i told my mother i would go out in service.
so monday morning i got up, got dressed, drove to the hall, and there was no one there.
i fell asleep in my car while i waited, woke up to wave at a brother, then fell back asleep, and then woke up, looked around and left.

That's the problem, she just got pissed, dissed out punishment, and wouldn't talk.
I think we have the same Mom. She's jumps to a conclusion, dishes out the punishment, and doesn't apologize when she finds out she's wrong. My mom flipped out on me when she learned I was secretly dating behind her back. I was so bad that I was sneaking off to KH quick builds to see my girlfriend who was a regular pioneer....shame!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't worry man, it all gets better when you move out.
