Olberman didn't run his big mouth claiming that water boarding wasn't torture, as Hannity did. Why would he have to undergo anything? He's merely offering to let Hannity fulfill his offer.

As I read this thread I'm struck by how far I've come since leaving the "truth." I actually feel nothing but pity for these people, in the past my heart would have been filled with anger and rage.
Life is good on the outside. Those poor JW's, having to sit there and have this crap pounded into their heads. Constantly being whipped back on to the hamster wheel, driven like slaves to keep running and obey Momma organization. Obviously the GB sense a real danger. It seems that the majority of their writings now seem to focus on apostates and DFed individuals. Could it be that the wheels are falling of the proverbial cart?
Can you imagine Jesus constantly walking around talking about how horrible prostitutes and tax collectors are, and how any good Jew would shun them?
my observation has been the opposite of agb's in this regard.
i have known of precisely 0 who have turned to gangs/drugs/prostitution after abandonning the lies known as jehovah's witnesses.
most seem to lead lives of quiet hope outside the mainstream religious community once they leave - but far from dangerous lives [even from the jw perspective].. just thought counter-point might be fairplay here.. do xjw's live like jw's?
I hate to disprove your point here, but I went out and grew a goatee and got some tattoos. In my spare time I do all kinds of crazy stuff like drink to excess......coffee that is, work on my house, go to class, and read good books.
Most people outside the Borg that I meet are surprisingly very similar to JW's.

my mother became a jw when i was six months old so i was brought up within the confines of the organisation.
i left properly in my early twenties and i am now 43 so a good 22 years of life, post being a witness have i travelled and documented thus far.
mine was a typical experience of a child in the congregation and i was busy doing my best to be a little adult as the child within slowly fell asleep.
Great post Liftsong! I like the point you make about trying to be a "little adult." My wife and I were just talking about that. At that time in our lives when we're supposed to be kids, and enjoy the innocence of our youth, we were all forced to be adults. We were held accountable as if our brains were fully developed.
In short, we never got to experience that precious developmental stage in our lives. What a tragedy! Welcome to the board, I look foreward to what else you have to say.
