Woh that takes me back! Fascinating to see those images of happy multi-cultural people turning their backs on scenes of destruction and death.
The one time I ever broke down and cried with my psychologist was when I'd just obtained a copy of the children's Paradise book and was talking her through the pictures. I felt The Fear again. She said it was an extremely violent book. Something of an understatement!
Thanx for posting that link!

Dear Ralph
More important than whether or not it's 'the end' is that you take positive steps to liberate yourself from the destructive JW mindset. You've been trained to look on the dark side of life, glass always half empty, etc. Try looking out for the positive things in the world instead. This obsession with the end of the world really is dreadfully unhealthy. Read your New Testament again, using a proper translation, not the dodgy JW one, and focus on what it says about God's character being loving, forgiving, understanding, etc. Learn to enjoy him instead of anticipating Armageddon. I'm sure he wouldn't want you to spend your life worrying about the end - we're supposed to enjoy life, that was the original plan, remember?
Kind regards

Humanitarian Help from Elders?
by Thirdson ini was reasearching something recently and reading the "secret elder manual".
i barely skimmed through this book when i had one and see it in a whole new light now.. this is the question the "flock" book tries to answer:.
what can elders do if a disfellowshipped person is hospitalized and facing the issue of blood transfusions?.

Yeah, the word 'humanitarian' does mean something else to the elders. They don't like humans, remember? A humanitarian is one who seeks to promote human welfare; so it follows that for someone who thinks the majority of humans are better off/doomed to be dead, humanitarian action would involve helping them to be doomed and/or dead. So that all makes sense now, then.
My father's on the hospital liaison committee in this country, I have to hear about all their triumphs and victories in their fight against blood. I just have to remind myself that finding alternatives is a good thing considering HIV etc, so there is a good side to what he's doing. The encouraging people to let their children die bit I do, however, have a little bit of a problem with.

It's where all the senior staff get naked together and carry out their mysterious rituals to summons Rutherford and Russell to appear in the flames of the ceremonial fire and issue new instructions. Then they play table tennis and drink overly-diluted orange cordial out of plastic cups, I guess.

If you're listening to The Doors, it could well be. Try listening to the lyrics harder. If they go like this 'This is the end, beautiful friend, the end', then you're right, it is.

Do they have to be murderers in order to be executed? Why not lethal injection for being a JW? IT would be a sort of mercy killing.

Are you a real person? Well, congratulations on getting your kids to stop fighting, anyway. That sounded like an attack on the people on this board, what you wrote. Was it meant to be?

Kick butt.
Embarrass your kids (if you got any).
Make kids (if you ain't got any).
Start a revolution, any topic will do. how about a revolution against grey leather jackets? I'd join.
Indulge your hedonistic side.
Be unwise with money.
Get involved in voluntary work.
Get involved in erotic dancing work.
Smoke dope and do bad paintings. Works for me!
Develop irrational passions and persue them ruthlessly.
Cultivate lobsters.
Take up erotic cross-stitch. I KNOW there's a market for it out there.
Go berserk with an offensive weapon - say, an out of date pork chop - in a KH.
Go to Memorial and announce that I am He! I have returned!
Start working out and get real vain about your throbbing muscles.
If you don't already. If you do already, my email address is !£"%)(*"£$"£OIU~!"£(*:-)

It's, erm, 14 pounds multiplied by 9. The reference is to an old British ad for some bodybuilding device which asked 'Are you a nine stone weakling?' and depicted a weedy guy getting sand kicked in his face by a six-packed beaut on a beach. It's a Brit thang, honey.
