Ah, I get it... those are approximate death rates... looks like the average death rate in the US is about .8% per year. Using that, a rough estimate of the number of JW deaths between 1994 and 2004 is 80,000. That would mean the actual increase of the number of JWs between 94 and 2004 is 180,000. Therefore, the attrition rate would be lower... about 54%.

WT "publisher" numbers in the US
by jstalin ini was looking at the info on jwic.com and realized the following about the us "publishers" numbers:.
between 1994 and 2004 the number of us publishers rose from about 900,000 to about 1,000,000. that's about 11% over those ten years, or about 1% compounded annually (well below the population growth rate).
in addition, between 1994 and 2004 about 392,000 people were baptised.

WTS Bible Reading for Nov. 21-27, 2005
by TheListener in2 chronicles, chapters 1-5.
2 chronicles 1 1and sol omon the son of david continued to get strength in his kingship, and jehovah his god was with him and kept making him surpassingly great 2 and sol omon proceeded to say the word to all israel, to the chiefs of the thousands and of the hundreds and to the judges and to all the chieftains of all israel, the heads of the paternal houses.
3 then sol omon and all the congregation with him went to the high place that was at gib eon; for there was where the tent of meeting of the [true] god, which moses the servant of jehovah had made in the wilderness, happened to be.

Does anyone have the actual publishers numbers for the last ten years for the US? The jwic site only has the graphs and no exact numbers.

Question regarding my nephew
by caz ini'm the aunty of 3 the boys i wrote about a few weeks ago who had lost their jw father to suicide.
my (16 year old) nephew has come to live with me and he has been brought up as a jw all of his life, although not baptised yet.
he hasn't made one mention of them or meetings at all since his father's death, ( 4 weeks ago) other than to tell me he was very disappointed in the lack of support shown his dad by the elders of his congregation during his lowest moments of depression and to the boys since.

How many questions on Baptism test?
by hubert ini read in a post the other day that a new convert needs to take a test to be able to be baptised a j.w., and that the test consists of 124 questions.. i'm not sure which post had this info, and it would take me a week to find it.. if this is true, though, does anyone here have the test questions that they could scan or link to this post?.
now, i know this could end up as a funny post, so if you want to ad-lib, that's fine with me, i can enjoy a good laugh.. however, i hope someone really does post the real test, so i can "study up" for my baptism.
(kidding, of course).

Auld,
I've wondered the same thing. I have a JW friend who will eat his steak medium or medium rare. There's plenty of blood on that steak...
