If god desires no one to be lost, why doesn't he just save everyone? Oh, nevermind, I bet he just prefers the sport of watching everyone and then picking the ones he really likes, and condemning the rest. Sounds like a merciful guy to me!

by Alana in....and i'm not sure how to handle it.
actually, if she were getting too close to a boy, i probably wouldn't know how to handle it either....lol.
but, as a parent, i'm not sure how to talk to her about it, as it's something i'm familar with.

I don't know exactly what I asking for, but I didn't know if anyone here has run across anything similar or has any suggestions....coming from a JW background, neither her dad or I want to react as our parents would have reacted.
Coming from the perspective of someone who would have loved to have a parent willing to at least dicuss the issue, let me offer one bit of advice. Just make it clear you will love your daughter no matter what. Being homosexual leaves a person out of quite a few of the "norms" of society, so just having someone who understands and accepts is more important than you know. Be there for her, be willing to accept who she is, and support her in leading her life.

I'm sorry I was only explaining homosexuality and then gave one solution to this behaviour.
You didn't "explain" homosexuality, you gave your opinion of it. I have been attracted to guys all my life, but being surrounded by folks like you who want to claim that it's learned or somehow not inherent caused me years of denial and self-loathing. Now that I've come to grips with my feelings with the help of a really good friend, I finally feel free in my life. I'm happy to be me.
You claim to offer a "solution" to the "behavior." You clearly don't understand, but homosexuality isn't a behavior, it's a physiological state. Gay folks aren't gay because they engage in homosexual sex, they're gay because they are attracted to the same sex. Just as you are attracted to the opposite sex (I'm assuming), I am attracted to the same sex. It's something I tried to deny mentally for more than a decade, but all the will power in the world didn't make me attracted to women.

My Crazy Mother learns a lesson
by RichieRich inyesterday (monday) i was off school and work, and i told my mother i would go out in service.
so monday morning i got up, got dressed, drove to the hall, and there was no one there.
i fell asleep in my car while i waited, woke up to wave at a brother, then fell back asleep, and then woke up, looked around and left.

Is this sort of shock at the friendliness of worldy people prevalent in the JW world? I'm shocked that your mom is shocked.

JWD......the First Ingredient in the Witnesses' Spiritual Food '
by gumby inas i was sitting here this morning reading the various threads and posts, i couldn't help but think how the society monitors this board.
i also thought how this board has aided many "out" in clever types of ways that have saved many a lot of heartache by the good advise they recieve here by others who have learned the hard way.. the actions of ones who have exited of course trickles down to elders who have to deal with these tricky ass apostates who are influencing others.
the co's all hear about this and of course these reports go to the society.

You'd think with the massive 'bleeding' of publishers out of the WT, somebody (in the Ivory Watchtower) would ask, "What are we doing wrong ?"
When you're convinced that the "bleeding" is the work of Satan, you don't ask yourself these types of questions.

Anyone want to try an experiment?
by Lady Lee ini have been having a discussion with scholar.
and like most discussions with a jw we aren't getting too far.. scholar insists that the wts/jws are known for:are known internationally as a clean and moral peopleour organization alone stands as a beacon of truth, hope and faithadvance people spiritually, emotionally and physically.
there are other wonderful qualities that he attributes to the wts/jws but that is usually the gist of his remarks.. of course most x-jws will say something quite different.. the experiment is this:.

Wow, my post generated three pages of responses. Here are some examples.
One of my students is Jehovah's Witness. His parents are really cool and love me to death because I take good care of their child and have taught him since he was 8 years old. now he's like 14 or 15. I'm nowhere near religious, but I keep him out of trouble and he is a rocking guitarist and becoming a good songwriter.
soul soliciting picg-fuckers.
amish like people standing at your door. usually a guy and a girl.
The first thing that comes to mind when someone say Jehovah's witnesses is making out no one is home when they knock on your door.
Refusal of Blood transfusions (wife work in operating theatre)
Waste of my time at door and work when they cold call.first shot warning, the second is aiming the head.
Alcoholics.
I find them annoying. They refuse to stand during the Canadian national anthem. They pretend like they are too good for our country.
They really make you think about the way you think about religion, freedom of religion, freedom of speech and just freedom in general. They have some compelling views on the way scripture should be interpreted. They hold a scrupulous standard on the issue of non-participation in war. They refused to participate in Nazi crimes during the second world war.
Bible-thumping, un respecting assholes who think your going to hell if you don't follow god! Christians of the lowest order, as they come to your house to tell you to repent of suffer in enternal hellfire.
here's what kills me....they believe that the number of people going to heaven is limited to precisely 144,000....
so why in the hell are they trying to recruit whoever they can to follow their religion? wouldn't that, by their own beliefs, maybe lessen their chance of getting into heaven? When I think of Jehovah's Witnesses, I think of a frustrating time that happens at least twice a year, when I'm chillin' in my house not expecting someone, am dressed like a slob if I'm dressed at all, and people want to talk at length when I'm trying to tell them that now is not a good time. They're annoying. They try to sell religion to me more than I've ever tried to sell anything to anyone. And I work in sales!
Pain in the asses
Cult
Nut jobs.Speaking from experience,my in laws are JW. I totally hate that they are, but they really give that religion a bad name. They are total assholes, thinking they are better than everyone else.
They say that they are the only people that will be resurrected, Funny thing is that when one JW fights with another they report that person to an "Elder" and they are punished by getting kicked out of the congregation.
I really hate them if I could get rid of all of them, would!!!!
What I heard last about them is that they don't vote. That was a big shock. And yes they don't believe in blood transfusions. My mother in law died 4 yrs. ago, if she would have agreed to a tranfusion we would have her around today.Total and complete annoyance.
They have some confusing beliefs. I received a book from a couple of Witnesses a long time ago, and in it, they claim Satan was kicked out of heaven in 1914 and that event sparked the beginning of the First World War.
Can anyone explain to me the reasoning behind this thinking?I despise the Jehovah's Witnesses and consider their organization to be a cult. They took my sister, as well as my two nephews, away from my family. My sister is now a subservient, seemingly brainless robot who is only allowed to do and say what her husband and the Witnesses tell her. I'd rather a person be an atheist than a Jehovah's Witness.
Brainwashed peckerheads. It should be legal to hunt them for sport.
