I understand what you're saying Mouthy, but I have to confess I don't have a lot of sympathy for his type of hypocracy. He has influence over millions of people and has worked to deny gay folks like me some basical social freedoms, yet, if true, he's been doing exactly what he preaches against. I suppose I get a bit of satisfaction when a hypocrit like this falls from grace. He's done what he can to make sure I can't live a normal and satisfying life. We'll see how the religious right reacts to his behavior - will they embrace and forgive him, or try to blame it on something like molestation - all the while denying that being gay is in the normal range of human behavior?

US Evangelical leader quits amid male escort's allegations
by jstalin inoops!
i've thought for a while that those who are most virulently anti-gay often times are themselves repressing their own homosexual feelings.
the delicious irony in this one is that this guy is head of a 30,000,000 strong evangelical organization and he's been a vocal opponent of anything gay friendly.. .

Trick or treat
by katiekitten inor as its known in england "give us yer stuff or we'll egg you".. it really isnt the cozy friendly 'kids get dressed up and chat to all the neighbours nicely' that it is portrayed on american tv (remember the et scene?).
i know you guys across the pond love haloween but imo its awful here.
youth crime goes up by 20% in the uk around haloween.. our version is way more menacing.

Born Gay?
by Sam87 inhi everyone, just wondering what your thoughts are on people that say they are born gay?
ive heard that this isnt actually possible, and that there is no scientific backing to it, im personaly not gay but i was just wondering what some of you think on this matter, and if you have anything to back it up with, thanks,.

I think what is at work here is that fundamentalists need homosexual orientation to be a choice. Accepting the fact that it is not a choice throws biblical morality out the window - because it would mean that god made people who are inherently sinful.
I think it's similar to the creationist argument - fundies can't accept an evolutionary reality - it invalidates their biblical "inerrancy."

Radical Islam finds US 'sterile ground'
by daystar in"people come to this country and they like it.
they don't view it as the belly of the beast.
with very few exceptions, you don't see the bitter enclaves that you have in europe.".

I finally did the right thing
by cyberdyne systems 101 ini had been friendly to a woman i met recently and wanted to take things further, but found out she was with someone when i asked if she wanted my number.
i bumped into her again two weeks later and she then asked for my number, so i asked her again was she with someone, she said yes but she could still text me.
my gut reaction through mistakes i have made in the past was to not get involved.

I dont care one way or the other, never have. Its a shame though that with the recent court ruling in NJ gays want their unions to be labeled "marriages", domestic partnership isnt enough and that is stupid. They have the legal rights, so why get flustered over a puritanically influenced title?? So sad that they cant just be happy with the legality of their unions.
Yes, you're right. I can't understand why those darned gays would want to be treated like everyone else.
Just like it was sad that those darned negroes weren't satisfied with "separate but equal." I mean heck, they still got their schools, they just couldn't mix with whites. Why couldn't they just be happy with that?
