they say that jehovah is god, jesus is not the same as jehovah, but that jesus is a god.
doesn't that make jws polytheists?
Man, I have a tough time reading giant unbroken paragraphs without a clear train of thought.
I guess my original point still stands though... Jesus is "a" god, not "the" god, according to the WTS. That shows a belief in multiple gods, which equates to polytheism. Dictionary.com defines polytheist as: "The worship of or belief in more than one god."
Are there any others gods in WTS catechism?
after years with the jehovahs witnesses and then after years of recovering from being with the jehovahs witnesses, i have recently decided to start researching them.... one thing seems to stick out like a sore thumb.... they are so adamant about being different, about alienating themselves from anyone and everyone else... my question is, is this really healthy???
for a "religion" to be only interested in being different and not being concerned with the bible and love and all that stuff????.

if a man in canada maintains a web site with watchtower publication quotes, why on earth would the governing body take him to court?
shouldn't they thank him for spreading the watchtower society's message?
isn't it a good thing if we all "know the truth" since the "truth will set us free"?.
The site is http://quotes.watchtower.ca. They are suing the web site owner because he posts old Watchtower documents on the site which are an embarassment to the organization. The site promotes critical thinking and the questioning of the ever-changing doctrine of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
i am about to enter my second semester in college and sure i know: i've got time to decide what i want to do as far as a major goes, but my school is converting into a brand new college by fall of 06 and they are urging those who are there now to hurry up and finish asap since transfering credits and such will soon get tricky once the new college is established.
my counselor says not to worry.
i still have until about the fall of 07' but i still feel i am in the dark.. what did you major in college or what is your major now?
I started out working toward is degree in computer information systems, but I've realized that the IT field probably won't be there in 10 years like it is today. I switched to Business Administration for two reasons:
1) It's a very portable degree that works about anywhere
2) I love business
My advice is to keep taking the general ed classes until you have a strong feeling about what you want to do. Get a degree in something that you are interested in and you'd love to do the rest of your life.
As for two year degrees, I don't recommend it. In today's changing global economy, a bachelor's will probably be the minimum required for a decent job. I'm looking at going for my masters's next year in business, but only because I want to expand my knowledge, not because I think it will get me more money.

for everyone who says that a liberal arts degree doesn't prepare you for anything, you'll find someone else who claims that it prepares you for everything.
well, both, to some extent.the one thing that's pretty much certain is that right out of the gate, a liberal arts grad will tend to pull a smaller starting salary than his or her friends who majored in business or a technical field.

last night i was reading some of my sisters writing, with her pemission.
she isn't baptized yet and she is 17, which that alone is a miracle.
this has been running around in my head for a few hours so i thought i would put it out there.. there is a woman here that i really admire.
she has done so much to help new posters.
she always seems have the right words to say.
one thing that always pissed me off was when "faithful wives" used to blame their "unbelieving husbands" for making them celebrate birthdays, exchange xmas gifts, go to "worldly" get togethers, play the lottery, etc.
