This contradicts classic evolutionary theory, which states that in a competition for common resources the long-term winner will always be the individual acting selfishly rather than the one working as part of a group.I don't know where that "classic" theory came from, but we see examples of the superiority of cooperation all the time in nature. Packs of animals roaming, rather than individuals, is a perfect example. The survival of the young due to the selfless behavior of mothers is everywhere in nature.

A statement in the Watchtower that angered me...
by slimboyfat inthe study article on the "patience of jehovah" a few weeks back caused some discussion on the forum.
but there was one particular turn of phrase that stuck out in my mind concerning job:"the outcome?
jehovah "blessed the end of job afterward more than his beginning.

It's interesting to note that Satan was a member of god's court during the Job story.

new prophecy
by why144000 inthe marauding maroons (the king of the north) will tonight decimate the king of the south.
the attacking nature of the north will darken the 'blue' sky.
this will not be the 'end' but merely the beginning of the end.

Tell me, who are the Kings of the North and South this week?

The name Jehovah and demons.
by Zico inthe society teaches that if unexplainable things are happening in your home, then shouting out the name jehovah will cause them to stop.
as you probably know, this is meant to be because these strange things are caused by demons, which may have posessed an object from your home, which was previously used in demonic activity.
but, supposedly, since they fear jehovah, shouting out this name can cause these things to stop, even if only temporarily.

Since I've had no demon attacks lately, I wouldn't know. However, I find it unlikely that I would shout a name if something strange happened... I'd probably grab my camera.

a slave does not know what his master is doing
by A Paduan in.
why the old light, new light, failed prophecies, strange contradictory interpretations...................
one answer - a slave does not know what his master is doing.

Then you would agree that the slave has no right to state, authoritatively, what the master is doing.

Do you think that most "thin"people have hatred towards "heavy" people?
by booker-t ini know this might sound abit "paranoid" but as i mentioned on other posts before i am a "heavy" person who is losing weight.
so far i have lost 65 pounds and i am still losing through a "strict"diet and exercise.
i was at a restaurant the other day and there were 4 "thin" people sitting at a table across from a "very heavy overweight" man.

Hmm.. the thread started with booker-t, a 40 year old, saying he has lost 65 pounds. I understand that metabolism slows down with age. I'm not saying everyone can be perfectly skinny. I am saying that there are different body types and different happy mediums. I get my body type from my mother. She's got extra weight but doesn't look huge. I work very hard to keep myself in shape. I've been a tubby person. I've been skinny.
I'm also saying that the morbidly obese can choose to not be that way. I recently saw a show on the morbidly obese and a doctor who is an expert on gastric bypasses. He said flat out that there isn't one morbidly obese person out there that isn't that way because of diet.
There is a guy in my office who weighs probably over 500 pounds. My primary feeling for him is sorrow. However, he sits there and eats nearly all day. Input vs. output. That input ratio may change with age and metabolism, but it still works. You can't gain more than you eat.
Health problems could contribute, I'll give you that. But the human body isn't all that different from a car - energy in and energy out. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk here.
It takes a certain number of calories to live. Eating more than that will put more energy in your body than you need. From my own experience, different calories (meat vs carbs) are processed differently for different people. I've learned that I need to stay away from certain things and that certain other things work very well for my body.

I was just being honest.
Being homely or gay aren't things one can change, but everyone's different in their nutritional needs. Weight and fat content are products of input versus output. Now, granted, there are people who naturally retain a higher level of body fat (me, for instance), but it's not something that can't be overcome. It really is a simple equation, but there are many who will try to deny that.
Finally-free, I didn't intend to offend you or anyone, just point out that weight is within everyone's control. I know it's not easy.

I don't hate fat people. I used to be the fat kid in early high school, and then I lost the weight through diet and exercise. I understand what it is to be on both sides. However, when I see people who are very overweight, I have a feeling of disgust because I know it can be worked off, the person just chooses not to, for one reason or another. I particularly get annoyed at the fat people who use the scooters at the grocery store just because they are fat.
