Oh holy one! Oops, I meant, mdb, what's your denomination? You sound just like Jesus. Especially when you said "be careful". So you say Jesus died for our sins. So, if this is true, I can commit sins and his blood will cover them. We are saved by grace, right? And if we aren't saved by the blood of Jesus after being baptized (by full immersion), then your religion doesn't know what it's talking about.
Jesus also said "none is good".
Jesus said, "none is good except God." By the statement, He was claiming His deity because He did not deny the man's calling Him "good teacher."
When you mock me by calling me "holy one" and say that I sound just like Jesus, would you think it a fair assumption to conclude that if Jesus (who is God, the great I AM) were here speaking to you, you would also scoff and mock Him? Or is that presumptuous of me?
I do not label myself a "denomination". I grew up in a Christian home (What does that mean, right? Even JW's call themselves Christians. Of course, saying you're a Christian doesn't make you one.) and I grew up in a Baptist church. I've attended Pentacostal churches, the
So you say Jesus died for our sins. So, if this is true, I can commit sins and his blood will cover them. We are saved by grace, right?
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:1-4
If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we
walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and
the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we
confess our sins, He is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we
make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
1 John 1:6-10
Do not love the world or the things in the world.
If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh,
the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And
the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
1 John 2:15-17
Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and
sin is lawlessness. And you know
that He was manifested
to take away our sins, and
in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been
born of God does not sin, for
His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
1 John 3:4-9
We know that
whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God
keeps
himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.
1 John 5:18
I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good.
22
For I
delight in the law of God according to
the inward man.
23
But
I see another law in
my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24
O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me
from this body of death?
25
I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 7:21-25
In our flesh we are captive to the law of sin, but those who know God do not intentionally sin and by doing so, abuse His grace. If you do this, you deceive yourself and God is not in you.
And if we aren't saved by the blood of Jesus after being baptized (by full immersion), then your religion doesn't know what it's talking about.
Baptism by water does not save. This type of baptism is an outward declaration of the inner change of a man – the circumcision of the heart, being born of the Spirit and baptised into Him. Water baptism does not nullify the redeeming power of Jesus’ blood. If baptism by water was required for a man’s salvation, then salvation would no longer be by grace alone (Eph 2:8-11), but by God’s grace and some other requirement (works).
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from , but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “
which,
” He said, “
you have
heard from Me;
for John truly baptized with water,
but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.
”
Acts 1:4,5
And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
Acts 11:15,16
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained
that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:8-11
My “religion” does not believe in what you’ve stated. You misunderstand the scriptures or have been lied to. I am assuming you’ve been lied to by the WTS.
