Married into it.
Divorced out of it!
i have a theory on why people become jw's.
there are 3 different reasons:.
1: you were born into a family of jw's.
Married into it.
Divorced out of it!
up until the purges that took place at brooklyn bethel in 1980, ed dunlap had served as the registrar and one of the senior instructors of the gilead school.
dunlap was one of the victims of the witch hunts that took place in 1980 and was disfellowshipped for "apostasy", along with members of the translation department.
in raymond franzs book crisis of conscience, ray franz discusses ed dunlaps experience in detail.
Very enjoyable! THANKS!
when rutherford published (in defiance of russell's will) a phoney posthumus final volume of russell's studies in the sciptures (the finished mystery) problems began which eventually resulted in criminal prosecution for watchtower society administrators.. certain passages in this book were so anti-government as to represent the society's views as dangerous to national security.. chastened, rutherford backed down on his rhetoric by excluding from future reprintings the offending passages.. plus--rutherford published a feckless appeal to the bible students associates to buy war bonds!
the stand fast bible students association.
the stand fasters get their name from their determination to stand fast on war principles that our dear pastor russell announced.
Nice post. I love reading stuff like this!
why is it that jw's are so afraid to talk to anyone who questions the beliefs, or in general says anything bad about the org.
case in point here i have a friend his family are all jw's not the best of the crowd but they are trying, anyway his brother and i were talking and i was telling him about how some of my cousins have left the org, and even showed him a funny picture of all of us wearing jehovah's witness protection program t-shirts there were about 7 of us in the photo.
he ended the converstation very rapidly and left.. i was not really telling him anything that bad, and i was just mostly joking with him, honestly i didn't think he was all that much of a jw, before he got married he lived with his gf, i have heard he likes to party, and for the most part you'd swear he wasn't a jw, not even baptized.
What's going on Andre?! I work with a couple of Dub's (i hired them a while back not caus ethey wherer Dub's but good workers) anyways, these guys love to party and go to strip clubs but if i make a simple joke about the WTS they get all wierd on me. Just the other day one of them asked me if i was going to vote in Novemeber. Once i told him i was, he freak out!!!!!!!! He avoided me for a few days until we went out to drink after work. He started to preach to me about going back to meeting and how voting was wrong, any ways after a few hours i had to call his wife to pick him u casue he was hammered! This is the best part, as he stumbled out the door he invited to go to see/hear him give a talk the next day!!!!
apart from williams sisters, know of any other jws wih sporting links.

I meet him when he was with the Lakers through a Brother in the Hall that did work for the Lakers.
has anyone known or heard of baptized jws declaring bankruptcy?
if so, wouldn't that amount to 'stealing' from the businesses or persons they owe money to?
when you incur a debt, isn't there a legally-binding 'promise' that you will pay back what you owe?
I remenber that KM from 1994. I also remenber soon after that at an MS/Elder meeting with the CO he indicated that if an MS or Elder filed for bankruptcy his qualification would be called in question. We had one Elder file and he kept it quite cause it was because he was going on vacation all the time and maxed out his credit cards. When it was brought to his attention he blamed it on medical bills. I know this for a fact cause it was my ex-father in law adn he asked me to lie for him when i was questioned by the BOE.
i remember when a brother named donis and i used to go out in field service on the weekends we took advantage of our congregations large territory.
we each had about nine return visits and we would pick one on the southern end of the territory and afterwards drive to one in the northern part and then back again.
along the way we would throw in laundry mat to dump a lot of the magazines that were given to us by other brothers/sisters who needed room in their garage.
Lied on field service reports!!!! If I Aux. Pioneered I would go out early in the morning before work and if i did 1 hour i would count it as 3!!!! ON weekends my buddy (the PO) and I would go on BS calls to visit the "friends" to encourage them. Most of the time we end up having a cold beer back at his place. About the only thing i miss about field service is have a few drinks at noon and pretenting we had God's blessing!!!!
