This jumped out at me - I don't know if you can use their own words in the letter against them
"You asked if the expression "does not live under the same roof" means something other then "not part of close family circle". Or is it only synonymous?
The two expressions are not synonymous. A person that is part of close family circle does not have to live under the family roof. "
and
"Like you said, your desire is to "be sincerely faithful in every way to Jehovah and his organization" "
I would point out that
JEHOVAH is not synonymous with ORGANIZATION
and a person who belongs to the organization MAY NOT be worshipping Jehovah (by not following Christ's example) and may be 'bad association'.

Answer from the "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses"
by Lilycurly insome of you might remember my situation....i have daed myself a while ago, and my father is the only jw in the family.
since i am very close to him and the family, he has read everything related to shunning, he even asked elders and even them are not sure.
so he wrote a big long letter to bethel to have an answer.

My Dad died this evening
by Mulan ini thought i would let you know that my dad, passed away a little while ago, tonight, january 23. they called me at 6pm to tell me.
he had been failing rapidly for the past month, and had completely lost his hearing and was totally blind.
the dementia was extreme too, and he still knew me on thursday, but didn't wake up to know me in the following days.

WHAT IS QUINTESSENTIALLY ENGLISH?
by Dansk inthis is actually something that fascinates me and i'd like your own opinions on the subject.
i list here things i feel are quintessentially english (with apologies to the scots, welsh and irish as they have their own uniqueness).. first of all, it's got to be a cup of tea (yes, i know it wasn't originally made here, but it has become an integral part of 'englishness').. cup of tea.

Enjoyed the film and thought that Georgie Henley - who played Lucy - was excellent.
Tolkien and C S Lewis were both members of 'The Inklings'. They met at Oxford University when they both joined the English faculty there. -

Thank You!
by TD ini was going to post a personal note under the subject, "my daughter is reading jwd" but i decided to just say, "thanks" instead.
it can be confusing for a teen-aged child when one parent is a jw and the other is not, even in a house like mine, where both parents recognize that it would be grossly unfair to "pull" in both directions at once, forcing her to please one parent at the expense of the other.
jwd, with its huge cross-section of people and experience has been and continues to be valuable in helping her to make up her own mind.

Technically, it's not a miracle. But it IS a miracle for me.
by bebu inthe neurosurgeon called it glioblastoma.
the radiologist affirmed it was glioblastoma.
--glioblastoma is the brain cancer tumor that they diagnosed for my mother last friday from her mri results.
-
ChristianObserver
Absolutely delighted for you all!
Bebu, if they hadn't operated, they would not have known that your mother had MS at this early stage. As a result, they can hopefully start treatment earlier.
So glad it was not the 'beast' you thought it was :o) -

does the society really change their publications?
by Cordelia ini just read on another thread about quotes that the society changes the publications sometimes,.
is this true that they print something then in the bound volume or cd rom they change it or take it out??.
does anyone have any proof of this?
-

Cordelia, the site which is being sued is run by Quotes a poster on this discussion board.
Go to www.Quotes.Watchtower.ca (for some reason I cannot make this a hyperlink).
If you click on the 'news and updates' button at the top of the page there, you can read about the lawsuit.
JWD also has a few threads about the lawsuit. Quotes initiated the discussion on JWD when he posted the news here.
