Anyone else have UC or Crohn's?

I have Celiac's Disease and a cousin with Chron's. Celiacs is the inability to digest a protein found in wheat oat barley and rye. It causes malabsorption and create neurotoxins. I have Fibromyalgia and arthritis as well as multiple level degenerations of my spinal column. I lost 145# before they diagnosed me. I live in Oregon and am a Medical Marijuana patient. I am also an RN and work at the THCF Clinic here in Portland. I can say without reservation that the cannabis saved my life, kept me from going into seizure and kept me from starving to death. Believe me I tried everything, it took them 7 years to diagnose me.

i am looking for information on the different ways that medical marijuana may be administered.

i have a client that received a information packet from the hospital that stated he could make a poultice from the herb and apply it to the painful areas, however that was all the info they had.

they are very interested in trying this approach.

I agree. I feel so much more protected here in Oregon.

I was curious and went to the JW website and did a search for marijuana and the articles I found were not favorable for medical use. Does anyone have any current info regarding the attitude of the WTBS has about the issue?

My parents see what a difference it has made in my health. I would be interested to know if there are any witnesses in good standing who have had to confront this situation.

Hello,

I am the RN at the THCF Clinic in Portland. It sounds like the replies have been very informative for you. I want to reiterate the fact that the vaporizer is really the way to go. It will decrease the head/dopey effects and you are not getting all the smoke. The Herbalaire is a great little vaporizer and is the one I use. Mine has actually cut down the amount of cannabis that I use by half.

I encourage you to continue educating yourself and those around you about the benefits of medical marijuana while decreasing the health risks associated with smoking. You will find that orally ingested cannabis is also a much longer lasting therapeutic effect than inhalation. There are many excellent recipes out there on the web for butters, oils, and tinctures for cooking with and topical applications.

ok, i got a call tonight from an old friend i knew years ago when i lived in another city.

i haven't seen him for 18 years although we have had occassional contact.

he's coming in to toronto next week and wants to know if we can get together to catch up.

Honesty, Honesty, Honesty, is the best policy. I say call the guy back and make no bones about the fact that you would love to see him and catch up for old times sake but that you are no longer associated with JW's and you thought he should be aware of that.

WT Study on Education - How did it go?

i didn't attend the meeting today and i haven't spoken to any fellow witnesses about the study yet.

anyone care to share how their meeting went?

any interesting comments made for or against the wts policy on higher education?

This whole thing just turns my stomach. My husband gave up a full ride tennis scholarship to Memphis State and I gave up scholarships as well. We struggled so many years and continue to. I finally came to my senses when I was 35 and got my ass in college. I now make $35 an hour as a Registered Nurse. We have never been financially solvent, and this is mainly due to the fact that we were uneducated and trying to raise 3 kids on minumum wage. All because someone else thought that it was the best coarse of action. If I'd been making that kind of money 20 years ago, our financial outlook would be quite different.

I really hope that this opens some eyes as to the mind control tactics of the WTS. I can't wait to hear what mom has to say about it.

As I see you live in Canada where veiws on medical marijuana are much more compassionate, I think Gumby's remedy is most effective. Much healthier than the polypharmacy that Under74 suggests.

Now the clowns are another story: where you traumatized as a child. My 23 year old son still goads me about the fact that he is still traumatized by the movie "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" I let him watch when he was little.

how do you feel about blood now?

the thought of taking a blood transfusion still gives me the creeps... but now i know that i'd take one if my life was on the line.

i'm thinking about giving blood too.

Yes, I have given blood in two different ways. One, through a donation at the Red Cross and as an RN I have administered blood to my patients. If I felt it was necessary to have a blood transfusion I would not hesitate. Blood is simply a combination of proteins and water. We take extensive measures to prevent transfusion mixups and reactions. Like any other medical therapy it carries risks and benefits. While I do not presume to say that our blood supply is perfect, I will say that we have made many advances in the last 30 years.

Being a former JW and having had lost 75% of my blood volume after a botched hysterectomy and almost dying, I regret and resent letting others tell me how to choose my medical care. I was so very miserable. Blood expanders kept me alive, true, but the suffering was unbearable. A simple transfusion would have been therapeutic and would have allowed me to begin to heal much faster.

i have never heard of this before, but i think it is worth knowing.. i have come across a rather strange story.

yes it is legitimate and some details are left out to protect this persons identity.. this lady is having problems in her feet and hands.

the doctors find that gangrene is setting in.. it is decided that the legs up to the knees must be removed to stop the spread of septic infection.. the fingers are also to be removed because the infections are starting in the extremities.. it is discovered that a tampon has been left in the vagina for a long time.

Let me explain how you can forget it's there....

There is no sensation after about halfway up the vaginal wall. So remember guys, that's a nice play area, but not the most sensitive part on a woman's bod. As a matter of fact, there are 5 times the nerve ending in a woman's clitoris as there is in the entirety of a man's penis. In other words, if you take all the nerve endings in the johnson and multiply by 5, then cram them all into that tiny little button of pleasure you got an idea of the pleasure potential of a female.

Tampons are generally much smaller than a penis. Because the tampon is thin and short, it lies mainly in the area that is much less sensitive right under the cervix. Out of sight, out of mind.

Yes as a matter of fact we did. Robby dated my husband's sister Terri once (I guess he gave Robby a hard time). The name Pat Burress rings a bell too. Joel knew Robby better than I; my parents were so strict that I hardly ever got out of the house for the witness parties where everyone from the area got together. My husband's family are the Laszewski's.
